Now please point out where somebody said THAT? What people have been saying, truthfully, is that this invention of Mandela being a smiling, friendly old grandfather figure who stood for racial equality and understanding is nothing more than an invention of the Western Left Wing media that even Mandela said he didn't quite understand.

My interpretation is that many of comments in this thread paint Mandela in a negative light using politically charged words like terrorist and condemning the actions of the ANC.

And Mandela was about racial equality AT ANY COST which noble, IMO. If Mandela was a brute, he would have slaughtered the white South African population after gaining control. He also could have deported every white South African and he wouldn't have been at fault given what the Apartheid government did to black South Africa. Hell, he could have forcefully taken all of the wealth for redistribution and he didn't even do that (even though his people suffer in abject poverty) all in the name of reconciliation. He's practically a saint in my eyes. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell you.

It didn't have anything to do with Western pressure. It was entirely about the situation on the ground. It is perfectly normal, reasonable, and consistent for someone to utilize violence to take a stand against injustice and/or in order to achieve an justifiable objective, and then to throw down violence once the objective has been achieved and turn, instead, to reconciliation.

You do realize that the allies stopped bombing the Germans once the war was over, right?

The right seems to align with business, which allows people to get a job, better themselves and climb up the ranks AS LONG AS THEY PUT IN HARD WORK AND DEDICATION. Much like a seal had to move up the ranks busting his ass to get to the top, that's exactly what happens at a job. The best will climb to the top and it will be given to people that EARNED it. The right understands this and that's why the MAJORITY of high ranking military members lean right. The left thinks people are owed something just for showing up, that they dont have to "earn their keep" they're due certain things just because they exist. In the military people with that mindset never make it to battle, because they would fold when conditions get harsh and their fellow soldiers will die because of their weakness.
