From watching the fight, i have decided that if you are scoring the fight as a Muay Thai match, Darren Till definitely won.

He was walking forward the whole time, did more damage and got a knockdown as well. Muay Thai scoring is complicated but is judged mainly on effective strikes ie one kick that moves you back will score higher than ten kicks that don't have any effect on you.

If you were scoring the fight as a KB match you would give the decision to Wonderboy.

If you were scoring it as a MMA match, it could have gone either way or even been scored as a draw.

I hope this clears matters up for you!

all i know is the fans lost lol

What I know is. I will never ever pay for a wonderboy main event

I like Wonderboy, but pull the trigger a bit more please. with all that awesome movement, hit a TD here and there to seal the deal man!

Octagon control is actually listed as a judging guide

Big John know a lot about reffing but judging or picking fights he's like the rest of us.
Even the fighters suck at predicting fights.

Octagon control is only used if a winner cant be determined through effective striking /grappling.

Its amazing how many fans dont understand this.

FACTS:

Judges shall evaluate mixed martial arts techniques, such as effective striking, effective grappling, control of the ring/fighting area, effective aggressiveness and defense.

Evaluations shall be made in the order in which the techniques appear in (c) above, giving the most weight in scoring to effective striking, effective grappling, control of the fighting area and effective aggressiveness and defense.

Where Fat John is wrong is that there wasn't enough striking in 4 of the 5 rounds to have much weight.

and it couldn't, so it must have come into play on this one

Till won. In my eyes there is no controversy in it.

Can someone explain to me how someone can win if he runs 24 minutes and don't want to fight, waiting to counter his opponent and can't do it? Incredible...

Imo, if you score it as a soccer match then it's a draw because they both ended the contest without scoring any goals.

This has definitely cleared up everything for me.

Thank you so much for your glorious words of wisdom op.

Agreed I could hardly tell who landed harder\cleaner shots. No one was really landing shit in any of the rounds.

You're close, buddy. Aggression is the 1st tiebreaker and Octagon control is the 2nd tiebreaker. It flat out says that they should rarely go to 1st and almost never go to the 2nd tiebreaker.

I do agree that there wasn't a clear winner from effective striking and grappling in most of rounds 1 to 4. Till was clearly the more aggressive from 2 through 4, which is why I agreed with 49-46 Till. I don't see how BJM can say WB landed cleaner, harder shot when he landed around or under 10 stikes per round, according to my eyes and fightmetric.

I chalk it up to Till missing weight and having a crazy accent. The media, mmadecisions and polling were ridiculously lopsided for such a close, uneventful fight. Especially since Till clearly won the 5th. It just proves biases and ignorance of many fans.

The only person that isn't a sherdogger that I've seen score it for Darren Till is Bisping... and he only has one eye lol.
