Media Dana White disagrees with main event's stoppage: "That fight doesn't get stopped in Vegas"

Did you see all the blood that was on buckely's knee and the octagon? It was one of the worst bleeding cuts I've seen. I've seen bigger cuts but that cut was leaking like a political document and it was on his eyelid. Fine stoppage.

Cut was bad, but i had the impression that the cutman did shit to no job on it, Covington was already bleeding at the bell, like if not even vaseline was applied to it.

My boy Keith Richardson lost his BKFC fight in Long Beach 3 weeks ago due to a similar size cut in the same spot. The doctor told him that he was running the risk of losing use of his eyelid which is an extremely hard region to fix and his eye could dry up and need to be removed (permanent eye loss). So suffice it to say I wasn’t surprised at this stoppage.

People on this board (and Dana) seem to be confusing cuts on the brow with cuts on or close to the lid.

I thought the same thing "I wonder if the cutman hates Covington" lol

You really have to question if Dana is on the dark spectrum of diagnosis (anti social) if he felt Colby could go on.

I know the fighter is a dick but still.

People are forgetting that the bigger cuts they've seen are either forehead or brow, but that's straight up eyelid. Every time he even closes his eye, that cut's gonna stretch. If he gets hit in a way to make his eye swell up with that on his eyelid, his eye is in serious trouble. That's a very good stoppage
colby did touch it multiple times and made it way worse
bad spot for a cut
not surprised with the stoppage

It was a hard cut to treat and Colby kept pawing at it, opening it back up and making it worse.
Agreed, but even just standing there before the round starts most cuts gets stopped until some action happens, in his case not much was done to it, some cutman at least cover them with vaseline.

There's been way worse that they've let continue.
Yes but that doesnt mean its automatically correct.

If the cut is above the eye like with Colby's and he cant see out of it (he was constantly wiping it) that is cause enough to stop it.

Dana is so sad that his Colby project is over.
I dont think he cares that much. He disagreed with the stoppage but its not like he was that mad about it.

Yuji Shimada wouldn't have stopped that fight...if it was a popular Japanese fighter that got cut. I remember when he dragged Yoshida's lifeless corpse to the middle of the ring so the fight could continue vs James Thompson.
What does this have to do with this fight though?

No one seems to have a compelling argument for why this shouldnt have been stopped other than we seen worse cuts go on.

So what? Alot of those shoulda been stopped too. The Aldana one absolutley should have been stopped. I couldnt believe they let that go on.

Was more the location of the cut than the cut itself. It's a pretty thin flap of skin with eyeball underneath instead of bone and muscle. It's not really a spot you can easily target though, or has a ton of incidental rubbing, so who knows if Vegas would stopped it with some of the horror shows they've let continue.
