Tiger Muay Thai

all i'm saying is its better then a kick in the nuts, any title.

the fights at bangla are between farang that usually are beginners and have never stepped in the ring. Fighting against thai taxi drivers. Some of the fights thai vs thai are good fights, but the foreigners fighting at Bangla are not going to win anything outside of Bangla.

for those of you that have trained in Thailand... how much experience would you recommend before going to a place like TMT?

not true... If that were the case... every farang would win.. sometimes it was between farang but not always...
I have been there many times when the farang got his ass handed to him just by leg kicks alone.... I was at the camp when this one chick fought and got like 15 stitches across her forehead from an elbow.... I have much respect for anyone getting into the ring in thailand under full thai rules and having it out where the medical facilities are f*cking medieval...

I know because I was there... could it have been rigged...? sure... was the danger any less..? no... that guy was out to kill me... he tried his hardest to leg kick me and make me quit... but luckily my punches were just as long as his kicks...

oh... and its true the belt is just for farang to make them feel good.

are you talking about that video you posted of yourself fighting WAY back when?

YouTube - My Muay Thai fight at Bangla Stadium

You were a beginner and your opponent wasn't exactly a lumpini contender. The majority of the fights are crap. I was there in 2007 and almost everyone (the farang) coming out of the camp won their fights by swinging wildly and getting a KO. As a matter a fact, when some norwegian guy came out with his hair spiked, head bobbin to probably eminem on his earphones as if he was entering Yokohama arena I was praying to God that the thai taxi driver would win....and he did! They do however showcase like I said in my previous post some legit fights between thais which are entertaining....but watching tourist swing wildly isn't exactly top notch muay thai.

TS, if you want to go to a good camp I'd look into Kaewsamrit for the real deal.

What it comes down to is the person or farang who is fighting. The promoter will want to put on a show to attract more people to the fights and if this means getting a tough looking westerner to beat on a small thai then so be it. This is Thailand after all.

I heard a story about a promoter that went to TMT and picked fighters based on there abs, the guy he chose fought a bangkok veteran with 130 fights. The farang took 40+ elbow's in 3 rounds before a reff stoppage. A lot of westerners loose but you never see it on you tube and I know that TMT do not upload the losses.

If you want a very competitive fight in Thailand, fight another farang or tell the promoter you want to fight a strong Thai. I personally would choose the farang. Some of the fights are a joke but a win is a win none the less.
