I was surprised at the hate for Taskmaster, then I remembered we're talking about the movie version instead of the far superior comics version. I really liked this version

venom eating an arm. And this bit where a low-level powered hero cripples Bullseye

They put two gender swapped characters that many people don't like on this team. Why? Ditch those two and introduce lesser known characters like Jack O' Lantern and Porcupine which could make for some fun times.

Chick Ghost sucks because the comic version was more interesting, weird and quirky, and had motivations beyond a simple "I have to do this" story line. You arguably have more directions to go in plot wise with the skinny weirdo comic version, especially if focusing on his dislike of Tony Stark or distrust of Government institutions.

Don't get me started on Chick Taskmaster. The comic version has done well battling Spidey, Cap, Miles Morales, and even Venom. His memory loss and ties to SHIELD make for some interesting story arcs if written well. Chick Taskmaster ignores all of this to give us a Russian Taskmaster with brain damage. Yay.

Nobody gives a shit that Ghost was gender swapped, c'mon man

Did you read and comprehend what I typed? The comic version is quirkier, more interesting, and has motivations beyond "I need to commit crimes". The gender swap wasn't needed but it isn't even why the movie character sucks comparatively.

I read it. You preface your issues with Ghost and Taskmaster being gender swapped.
Ghosts' character could have been written better, but being gender swapped has nothing to do with that.
Taskmaster I can see because the character needs to be more physically imposing, they did a shit job with that character development, too.

At no time did I state that the gender swap was why I personally think they sucked or why I'd rather have the comic versions so I don't know what to tell you.

Me pointing out that many people don't like these gender-swapped characters is just that, me pointing that out. I don't care why people don't like them, I simply remember people being up in arms over the swap and also not liking the characters with Taskmaster deservingly getting the most hate.

Taskmaster could have worked, they could have kept Andy Lister (actual stunt man behind the mask) and asked him to put on a few pounds. He doubled for Chris Evans very well since Cap's suit could be made bulkier.

One of my favourite Taskmaster stories had him and Deadpool hired by a woman to find her abusive ex-husband. When they find him, Deadpool says the woman had made him promise not to kill the guy. The shit bag looks relieved...until Deadpool leaves the room. The last panel is Taskmaster telling the guy,

"Funny. I don't remember promising your ex-wife a damn thing..."

yeah, people get angry when important characters get gender swapped. Not Ghost

No one gives a shit about Ghost. Period. MCU has always struggled when it comes to Big Bads, but Ghost is one of the lamest.
this, but i did like Ghost in the comics, never would have made him a movie villain, maybe a Netflix/ Disney+ villain, but not a movie one.

A big problem with Ant Man's Ghost is having a character that is so boring and hard to do anything with and even more boring once you've settled their story arc. Ghost was a girl caught in an accident and orphaned. Okay. Bill Foster (both Fishburn actors were good choices for Foster) takes her in and tries to help her. Ghost will be intangible permanently if not helped. Movie wraps up and Ghost's story arc is pretty much done and it's hard to imagine why we need to see her again.

Comic Ghost's story arc doesn't revolve around anything "solvable". He is who he is and acts as he does due to his experiences and personal beliefs that drive him to bring down institutions that he sees as "evils of modern society" so to speak. His creepiness and ability to make you feel uneasy are great tools for storytelling and his character serves as a warning to unchecked capitalism so you can tongue-in-cheek some lines aimed at Disney which would be awesome. He's as much vigilante as villain if his backstory is believed so his character is more complex and interesting.

It's a shame he wasn't used IMO. Much more interesting character.

I was embarrassed for the cast being announced - you could tell people were either uninterested or disappointed.
Imagine thinking people would get excited for this cast as a movie. Marvel has lost it.

Have to agree. There were flashes of the old MCU - Secret Invasion, Born Again - but for the most part this was underwhelming if not downright depressing.

Disney are damn lucky DC couldn't hit water falling out of a boat right now, or Warner Brothers would be eating their lunch.
