Bless the UFC, trying to act like the Cormier/Miocic fight decides who is GOAT. For me every division is currently being haunted by three shadows of greatness looming over the sport in their absence - Jon Jones, Conor McGregor and George’s Saint Pierre.

Don’t get me wrong DC Miocic is a fun fight, as is Woodley Covington, but it all means jack - Jones is likely the best fighter in both LHW and HW, Georges Saint Pierre is basically the true MW and WW champ, and Conor McGregor is the real LW and FW champ.

The fact that these fighters never lost dominance of the divisions and are still in their prime basically ruins all the other fights because they don’t feel lineal. Literally nobody other than TJ and DM can claim the undisputed tag. And DM is fucking things up by refusing to fight anyone. Okay and nobody can deny Miocic is HW king...but that’s sort of spoiled by everyone’s secret belief that Jones would beat him.

It is one thing for one GOAT to be absent, but isn’t anyone else perturbed by these three missing greats? Nothing will mean anything to me, even in the biggest fights, until this situation is rectified.

1 of them wont fight without peds (could be all 3 tbh)
The other 2 ran from their divisions when they got the belt. Gsp (mw) and conor (fw lw) have zero title defences combined ffs

Those guys gave us good fights but let the past go and Enjoy the present moment. Living in the Past will prevent ou from enjoying new fighters.

I agree that this fight isn’t for goat. But lol to jones being best in hw. Remember when he was afraid to fight werdum after talking crap, or that reem used to tool him when they trained together. You’d be surprised how many hw could beat jones.
 
Eh, GSP beat a non top five guy for the MW belt, don't care.

Bit of a forced construct. The only one looming over a division is jon jones, and only over lhw, because he soundly beat the strongest competitor twice, before having the belt taken off him. The others basically volunteered to drop their belts.

Perhaps many but can assure you not everyone.

Yes, JBJ, GSP and CcM messed up multiple divisions but UFC let this come about with their haphazard match making. But they are out and MMA moves on. I also enjoy other promotions and don't expect there ever to be an undisputed best due to no cross promotion unification like a Real World Championship plus even within promotions they limit development of contenders . Then there are fighters like Kron who also raise doubts. So enjoy what you can. Those who fight should get our attention, not those who don't.
 
Beating Michael Pissbing doesn't make you the MW champ come on. Even GSP admitted that Whittaker was the true champ that's why he handed him the belt to him without defending it. Pissbing got lucky against Cuckhold and then went on to defend against a 50 year old Dan Henderson, anyone who thinks he was the real champ is being delusional.

Tyron Woodley melts GSP in 2018 which is why GSP is staying far away from that division and he is instead aiming to go down to 155. Does this sound like a WW champion to you?

Jon Jones is the real LHW champ imho but how he is the HW champ when he has dodged that division for most of his career and only wanted to fight in HW against an old washed up Lesnar?

While Conor is the lineal LW champion until he fights and beats Khabib he is not the champion. I don't think Conor will ever go down to FW since the weight cut will be too much so he can't claim this title either anyway. Also even Conor has acknowledged that Max is the real 145 lb champion so there's that.

Beating Eddie Alvarez is impressive but it doesn't make you the best 155'r. He's sought after because of his ability to draw in big money. 155 will move on fine without him but unfortunately the UFC have created a narrative he's a P4P athlete lol.
Khabib and Tony unless Conor is offered to them, should just move on. This drama has gotten seriously old now which i'm sure even some of his loyal fanbase can agree with.
Not a hater, just being realistic.
