I thibk this quote is very close to a great quote, but it falls tragically short, and in fact ends up being a pretty shitty thing.

Like, to say something about how every human is complex and ever-changing, and that loving or appreciating someone means understanding, accepting and maybe even loving their shortcomings and problematic aspects. This is a good thought, and an important one, i think.

And this Marilyn quote seems at first blush to be saying something like that, but it actually isn't. Its instead saying something reductive, shitty and objectifying. Its less about seeing people as complex wholes and more about putting up with shitty behavior from hot chicks because you wanna fuck em.

ya, marilyn had her quote and women of later generations like Janet Jackson and Madonna had female empowering songs like "Nasty Boys" or "Express Yourself" which give really unrealistic ideals for women and men. A man can do everything right and still end up with a pissed off bitch on the other end or even just doing his best might not be enough. Just nasty.

What's worse is for a lot of modern women they will bitch and whine and demand you cater to them, but If you actually do that they just lose all.respect for you.

I always had the idea that when you're in a serious relationship, you should be there to support your girl.and help smooth out problems for them. But doing that just makes them think oh if he's doing all this for me I must he the high value one in the relationship, then they start getting all fucking crazy.

Last girl I dated was a single mom, and her ex husband and the father of her kid died unexpectedly right around the time we started dating. I'm doing all this stuff for her an old her kid and trying to be there for her while she's grieving . Well it just made her absolutely despise me after about 6 months lol.
