I remember how everyone was trying their best to write this guy off by using the argument that he is always losing until he wins. Then he goes and finishes Cub in under two rounds and steps in for Holloway against Edgar. Then everyone says that Frankie is a lock and there is no way he loses. Then he gets finished for he first time in under a round.

Kinds crazy to see this kids rise. His fight with Holloway should be super intriguing and a match up between two fighters that are both in their prime.

Such a meteoric rise through the one true battleground for gladiators known only as The Octagon

Can't wait until Ortega takes that title, Max is annoying.

The co-host on Ian McCall's podcast was noting the week before the fight, that Edgar is likely going to be one of those guys who gets old overnight. We've seen it happen with Chuck and BJ Penn and many others.

Edgar is famous for his ability to take punishment and keep dancing around. This was the first fight were he took damage but couldn't just bounce right back from it. Obviously that game plan - get beat up, keep dancing - wasn't going to carry him through his 30's.

Ortega is dangerous and skilled and both Edgar and Cub are on their way out of the sport.

Good to see Goldberg took a long enough break from popping prescription pills to sign up for Sherdog.

Well, that is what sets him apart. It's true that he was losing those fights on points, but he's got the gift of being a finisher, not a fluker. The guy can be outpointed, but he has demonstrated that he's capable and mentally tough enough of ending the fight up until the clock is about to expire.

I’m still not 100% sold. Either t city improved a lot over the past year or he’s still the slow starter with good subs and sloppy standup that caught Edgar. Its still up in the air for me

Thought clay guida was working him well until t-city crushed his chin with that knee. Guy is a beasttttt!!!!!! Great fighting iq as well.

I'm with you on that.

But I also think he has earned his title shot if Dana actually pulls the trigger.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.
About time we got rid of these old gatekeepers.

Been saying since the Aldo fight that Frankie is done winning belts.

I think sometimes he's a slow starter....when he fought Guida, he was down 2 rounds...then in the 3rd, you could see him put it in 3rd gear and just go after guida...eventually ko'ing him with a knee...
