Brock won unanimously the first round and was winning the second round until he eventually did tko Randy.
Against an undersized, older fighter one would hope he'd not lose the advantage.Randy was never winning the second round. He never hurt brock. A little cut on the eyebrow means nothing. Brock rocked Randy twice. First with a nice standing elbow in the middle of the round and then later a straight right that dropped Randy like a sack of pototoes.
It was a decent fight but Lesnar had the advantage the whole stretch..
Sure.Against an undersized, older fighter one would hope he'd not lose the advantage.
IMO it was Brock getting further exposed.
It showed his wrestling and athleticism were overrated. He couldn't cleanly outgrapple a man half his size and twice his age. And even knowing this people were still 100% certain going into the Cain fight that Brock would simply stroll across the cage, pick Cain up over his head, and F5 him for the finish.
He is big and strong. Anyone who can strike with a little power and wrestle well enough to not get just tackled and held down is going to beat him. Guys like DC and Stipe beat him 100/100 times IMO.
Never found this fight suspicious but Brocks' fight with Carwin is very shady IMO...I believe the 1st Rd was legit but the 2nd Rd was not...in the 2nd Rd Brock does not even once land a significant strike...despite being very new to BJJ Brock manages to get full mount and then gives it up without any strikes to go for the sub...in every other one of his fights Brock goes for short power shots when he gets top position...Brock never once demonstrated that type of grappling composure in any fight before or after...
Lmao, the hate on Brock is so stupid. Brock was in his 4th pro fight ever. It doesn't show that his athleticism is overrated when he was able to beat one of the most experienced guys who was literally the champion at the time with only 3 fights in his career. It actually shows the exact opposite that he was so athletic that he could overcome the massive gap in experience.
Randy was holding his own for a while.
That fight put Brock over huge.
A 290 pound specimen landed a brick sized right hand on the temple of a 230 pound undersized man.
Nothing very suspicious about that right, this is almost as bad as people that were saying the Weidman/Silva KO was suspicious.
Did anyone have Couture ahead until the stoppage? Do you think if Lesnar didn't ko Randy, Randy would have won on points? I have heard fighters like Don Frye and a few others say that they found that fight suspicious looking, and said that they felt Randy was the far better wrestler and was not performing up to his ability.
This is the only major fight in modern UFC history that I have concerns about.Same thing with Nate vs Conor 2...
You never know
Well it didnt hit him on the chin, it landed on his temple. The right wasn’t suspicious because his chin was already faltering at that stage of his career.
