Whiteness doesnt exists. Before Imperialism "white" people were doing the same sh*t to each other as they ended up doing everywhere else. The racism became a tool with which to justify the enslavement and genocide of other people, based on ideologies common to religious sects.

In the Americas, Irish were not "white"...neither were Italians, Germans, Scandinavians, Scots, etc. It was limited to Anglos. It slowly expanded to encompass all of those groups when politically convenient and ballot potency was waning. Vote with us, and you get to BE as us:



Societal integration didnt solve this division very quickly. It wasn't until the Civil Rights movement and beyond that the language started to change. But generations who came up before that still saw the dividing lines:



The only reason "black" IS a thing is because descendants of slaves were particularly devoid of any ethnic heritage being as their language and place of origin was never accessible to them past the point of slavery. A people with no actual heritage, so theyve had to fashion their own identity. Hence, African-American or black. And that wouldn't have even been necessary had they not been immediately disenfranchised with Jim Crow. Had they just been allowed to be American and have some say in how they lived. It took Civil conflict to get that, 100 years later.

If you're white and sensitive about it, it's because you've become attached to a lie, a mythology. That's what this thread is about. Anglos arent Native to this land, and whiteness is not an ethnicity or a culture. It's just a means used to "other" people, colorism. The "white" people of my Family are Irish Protestants and Italian Catholics. And we all know Catholics and Protestants got along swimmingly.

This is just another case of you being a fish saying the water doesn't exist, cause it's so present all around you that you can't even see it.

White culture is many things but its most powerful instrument is the overarching dominion over the way humans live, basically everywhere there's civilization, for more than 2000 years straight. Law and governance, good practices in basically everything from science, accounting, trade laws, healthcare, to even trivial things like entertainment, culture, sports. the organizing principles of societies in basically all countries around the world, certainly in the ones that matter. you live in a world that the white man built over thousands of years, and you will continue to do so for a very long time, maybe forever. you may have helped, but you're not the originator.

All your anger comes from the realization that all i say is true and there's nothing you can do about it except pout and have a fit.

This does literally nothing to address the actual contention. There is no such thing as "white culture." Its a made-up political category that's an amalgamation of multiple cultures which Historically have had their own conflicts and only came together in a tumultuous practice to keep a heirarchy from toppling completely that was based on colorism.

what, you're telling me that only 100 years ago, people now considered to be 'whites' in America were referred to by people named Smith (who were the real 'white men' of the time) as 'bohunks' or 'wops' or 'Polacks' or whatever depending on whether they were of Bohemian or Italian or Polish background***, but you're telling me that now considering them all to have homogenous backgrounds and cultures is some kind of thin, artificial construct that elides literally centuries of diverse cultural differences between them?
