Social Thoughts on "Heritage" Americans/Canadians?

Sadly true. The feckless corporate Democrats would rather lose to Vance than win with AOC.

Whoah whoah whoah...we don't blame Capitalism around here, especially not for tanking the campaigns of Democratic Socialists. The increased wealth gap and tremendous pressure on the working class to give all of our time, labour, profit, tax dollars, and soon children (by way of labour, military service, or normalized Epstein-ism) to the capital class is purely coincidental, as is the way we also bear the brunt of their risks whenever the economy tanks and we pay more for mobilized everything.

So yeah let's not get crazy, let's just elect either another fascist right winger or maybe a greasy centrist with more neo-liberal economic positions.

Or better yet, we can just cancel elections. Ya know, to preserve democracy.

The name for the people saying this these days is the woke right, who like the woke left, are obsessed very stupidly and damagingly with identity politics.

AOC was attacking "whiteness" publicly the other day. Whiteness of course being described as an insult or negative thing. That's the other side of this war, and it is merely a war of idiots, there aren't any goodies in this fight, only baddies. Race trolling.

Was she, really? Or is that just what you were told?

You haven't watched the footage yet? It's being run all over the news.

AI Overview

Based on recent reports, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) sparked criticism for comments regarding "whiteness" during the 2026 Munich Security Conference.
  • Context of the Comments: While participating in panels, AOC made a distinction between national cultural identities (such as German, Italian, or English) and "whiteness," arguing that the former are based on real, rich cultural heritages, while describing the latter as an "imaginary thing".
  • AOC's Argument: She argued that "whiteness" is not equivalent to actual, deep-rooted cultural heritage, but rather a different construct.
  • Reaction: The remarks led to criticism and headlines characterizing the comments as "stumbles," with some critics accusing her of hypocrisy and attacking a racial concept, according to reports.

The news?

Or "the news"?
Not sure what you are asking. It was in her comments about Marco Rubio's speech- she was responding to another speaker's negative spin stating that all Rubio was talking about was whiteness. There isn't any question that whiteness was used in that context in a negative way- that's the way it's used in CRT classes- I've had the grad version, my professor gave a long list of ways we could "let go of our whiteness." It's incredibly divisive, there isn't anything ambiguous about was she said.

You have yet to explain how she was "attacking whiteness"

If it makes you feel better, I will say she was painting whiteness in a negative light. Again, there isn't anything ambiguous about that use of "whiteness."

Imagine saying "blackness" like that.
