Just have a few questions. I'm having a hard time coming to firm stance on this issue so I'm asking for a little help from my sherbors. Nobody I know is going to executed but I saw a vid and got the feels. Anyway if you don't mind answering a few questions I would greatly appreciate it. These questions are aimed at the system in the US, but anyone from outside please feel free to contribute.

1. What do you guys think is a crime that with out exceptions warrants the death penalty?

2. Is there and age too young to sentence someone to die?

3. Are you bothered by the semantics? Such as the legal expenses accrued during the many appeals of most death row inmates, often times exceeding the cost of life in prison.

4. Do you think rehabilitation is possible in capital offense cases?

5. Do you believe the death penalty deters crime?

6. Do you believe race plays a factor in some capital punishment heavy states such as Texas?

Thank you guys.

1. Murdering children

2. Under 18

3. Not really

4. In some cases yes, but not if any offender if guilty of murdering in droves.

5. No

6. Yes

I am fine with it if it could ever be applied justly. Sadly, in this world, that will never be the case.

If someone is found guilty without any doubt of murder (depending on circumstances of course as not all murders are the same), rape, child molesting.. off with their fucking heads.

Sentence to be carried out immediately after the trial too. Such a waste of fucking public funds to house and pay for people that have forfeited their right to life.

1. Killing children, heinous crimes of rape or torture.

2. Tough question. I mean what’s the difference between 18 and 19? Or maybe 17?

3. No

4. Capital offense? Sure. My stated crimes? No

5. No

6. Yes

1) Murder, violent rapists + child touchers

2) Pre-teen

3) Should get one appeal, and both your case and appeal reviewed by an impartial board of judges before the execution.

4) Maybe if it was a crime of passion. But typically no.

5) Not as much as it should.

6) I think sex plays more into it than race.

Exactly how I think. The age is so tough because until I was about 25 I was a damn hooligan. Nothing remotely close to murder, but thinking about how foolish I was I wonder how many kids are on death row because of a mistake (Obviously excluding child murders, torture, rape).

So if a 13 year old is on trial for capital murder he should face the death penalty? Again no hostility just curious.

1. Nothing is without exception because the world is complicated.

2. I would struggle to be convinced that a minor could be given a capital sentence.

3. Practicality is important, we live in a real world and not one of hypotheticals or solely on principles. The system is proven fallible and the cost is a direct substitute for accuracy. Low cost = low accuracy.

4. Yes, at least from a US perspective of what a capital crime is. There is no capital punishment in my country.

5. Minimally

6. Yes, this is well established just like gender is another key factor in determining outcomes.

I dont view the death penalty as any sort of punishment.

There would be less people in cages if death penalty was used with more proficiency.

A few innocent men would undoubtedly end up proficiently killed in the process.

Why take the chance of making a mistake without time to rectify that mistake?

I think most of those examples would qualify for question #6. Do you believe race plays a factor in some capital punishment heavy states such as Texas?

Black men have been wrongly executed for many decades, and for that I loathe capital punishment.

I'm for it, but I also believe that life in prison to be a worst punishment. I would personally request the death penalty over life in prison. Also, many folks who have been sentenced to life are back in the streets after 30 years. It is a fucked-up justice system. Judges, lawyers, jury, and evidence can be manipulated. Yes, if you have lots of money and a good lawyer, chances are you will not go to jail. Or just bribe the judge or the jury.

1. What is a crime that without exception warrants the death penalty?
- Killing of another human being, espionage, terrorism.
- In question: Child rape and animal abuse cases.
- Someone taking my Snickers chocolate bar. ;)

2. Is there an age too young to sentence someone to die?
- Yes. Under 15.

3. Are you bothered by the legal expenses accrued during the many appeals of most death row inmates?
- No.

4. Do you think rehabilitation is possible in capital offense cases?
- Maybe. Case by case situation.

5. Do you believe the death penalty deters crime?
- Absolutely.

6. Do you believe race plays a factor?
- No.

repeats need to die or lose limbs. we spend far too much money keeping them comfy and fed.

@abiG said he would support if it could be used justly.... but it can't

I wondered if he supported caging people when it has the same issues regarding justice

Not sure if my post was clear. It was worded kinda funky
