There is a good explanation for Jane being Thor in the comics. Only way they can make it work imo

8. Finale

Thats a lot to fit in. And I'm sure there is going to be a lot of filler with arbitrary 80s hits.

I just remembered that Hermsworth is doing the Hulk Hogan Bio Pic so he probably rolled into training Regiments because he is the biggest he has looked playing Thor.
