Actually, now that you’ve said that, the term “wokewashing” is coming into vogue which I think might provide an interesting counterpoint. Wokewashing is more like saying “yes our company polluted your lake but the CEO is a Tasmanian Lesbian so you can’t be mad” - but I think it might also wind up applied to movies about myths from Scandinavia/Finland and so on.

I actually think it doesn’t matter so much as long as the spirit of the character is there. I liked the Idris Elba Hemdall. I just felt like he had the kind of gravitas to threaten Hannibal Lecter-Odin.

Also are Finns Scandinavian? I knew a Finnish guy who said they were but also a Swede in a hostel said they weren’t

I also liked Idriss Elba Heimdall because, well, he's Idriss Elba.

Yeah, only part of Finland is in the Scandinavian peninsula and their language is very different so they aren't always counted as Scandinavian, I think, but culturally they are part of the "Nordic" region with Iceland, the 3 Scandinavian countries and the Faroe Islands. But if they wanna call themselves Scandinavians, I don't think anybody would be mad. Except the Russians, maybe.

Absolute no interest to see this. And I loved Ragnorak.
 
I going to double down on my prediction that the plot starts off with Bale's character kidnapping Matt Damon, Melissa Mccarthy, and the rest of the play's cast thinking they are the real gods.
