Not a big fan of the female Thor storyline but in Taika I trust.

Jason Aaron does it Justice , after God of Thunder I thought Jane Foster Thor would suck but to me it was well written and Unworthy Thor had a great redemption angle.

Fat Thor in End Game is starting to make more sense now.

I think Nat can pull it off

I’m at the comic con in San Diego and these announcements have all been big news.

This sounds great. Marvel is really keeping things fresh

<WellThere>

...
Personally i doubt it though just because I think the MCU is trending more towards female leads and not another Rocket or Groot, type 'creature' lead and I think Natalie Portman as Thor, if she will take the role is just too big a name for them to ignore her. They won't have both. I, personally, don't want to see Natalie in the role. Not even a little bit. But I do think you will see that mid way thru this next stage, if she wants the role. It seems hers for the taking....

@MikeMcMann I also liked the Jane Foster Thor run, but that is not an excuse to bring back Natalie Portman.

I never read it. It was after my comic book time.

I could see this coming when they started talking to Portman again but I did not want to see it. I was not a fan of hers at all in this role. She really mailed it in imo.

Excited as hell for this. Praying Loki is in it too. Not the same without him.
You can't put Loki in every single Thor movie like X-Men has Magneto, Mystique in every movie.

Ragnarok was one of the most entertaining and funny MCU movies.

Taikia Waititi Puts AKIRA on Hold to Write and Direct Marvel's THOR 4

Taika Waititi is returning to the many worlds of Thor. Waititi has inked a deal to write and direct a follow-up to his 2017 smash, Thor: Ragnarok.

But his boarding of what would be a fourth installment of the Marvel franchise comes at a cost: Warner Bros.' long-gestating adaptation of Japanese manga Akira.

That project, which was penciled for a May 21, 2021, release and had Waititi testing actors in a worldwide search for talent, is being put on pause indefinitely as the two projects' production dates began to bump up against one another. Script development concerns caused Akira to push back its shooting start, and while some of those have been addressed, say sources, the dates were now too close for comfort.

Warners' next step for Akira is unclear. Several sources have said that Warners is keen on keeping Waititi involved for the long term and hopes to see him pick up Akira after Thor 4.

Waititi brought his own stamp to the Thor franchise with Ragnarok, infusing the movie with an idiosyncratic wit evident in his previous work like What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Audiences responded to the tune of almost $854 million worldwide while critics’ raves put the movie at 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The move also rejuvenated what had been a rare declining franchise performer for Marvel.

Chris Hemsworth is expected to reprise his career-defining role as the Asgardian god of thunder.

Next up for Waititi is Jojo Rabbit, a unique Nazi-era satire he directed for Fox Searchlight, which opens Oct. 18. Scarlett Johansson stars in the picture alongside Waititi, who portrays a boy's imaginary version of Adolf Hitler.

They are doing the whole Jane Foster becomes Thor story line, which is complete garbage. Pass.
