I think its moreso the character was pretty bland, basically just a damsel in distress and someone to deliver exposition.

Seems a bit harsh to blame that on Portman, I mean you look at her career and beyond being a good dramatic actress she has been willing to do self aware comedy just wasn't given much chance in the Thor films.

Does make sense IMHO since the romance angle is arguably the main leftover Thor plot thread.
 
The main thing I'd hope for is that he retains both the last films tone and the Flash Gordon like cosmic setting.

Not looking forward to Portman's return.

Thor 2 was one of my least favorite MCU movies and it had a lot to do with Portman, Dennings, and their schlock.

Who knows if it is or not. But, as you can see by all the iconic stars in the mcu movies, it's the place to be. If you're these movie stars manager, you're chomping at the bit to put your star in a movie that's going to be in a, almost guaranteed huge hit with massive global reach.

Especially for these WCW iconic movie stars (they're way over their peak, but still have iconic name recognition).

Decades ago when they were making these movies, you didn't have these kind of names rushing to play these parts.

Shows the success and quality of these movies (aided a lot by these big stars, who are over their prime, but still have their top notch acting chops).
 
Eternals, Black Widow, Shang Chi and Doctor Strange: in the Multiverse of Madness - Best MCU Title Ever! - are all locks for me. Shut up and take my money.

The reviews for Love and Thunder would have to be exceptional for me to even consider going to see it.
 
Jane Foster might be one of the least interesting characters ever.

That's why Ragnarok was actually good

I think things have changed a lot since she was last involved with Marvel now this is the cool thing and the money maker just about to pass Avatar all the cool kids play in the MCU and the movies tend to be better then the stuff they made when she was around.

Yea right... you will see them all. Like getting good reviews is a hard thing for Marvel but you will be hooked at the first trailer.
