Thomas the Train

My son is 4 and likes Thomas, we've got a train set, which covers my bedroom floor, and a few other various items. He's nuts over cars though, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc. He can name the cars all my neighbors and my daughters frirnds drive. Plus he's obsessed with the shapes and colors of head lights and tail lights on vehicles. Strange, but he has a hell of a memory.

My nephew was into Thomas when he was a little kid. I remember taking him to Toys R Us and we would have to stop in the Thomas section every time. My sons never did get into it. My oldest was into Bob The Builder and my youngest was crazy for Yo Gabba Gabba.

Legos kick ass I still buy them time to time.

Apparently nostalgia kicks my ass; when I got married, my wife (I) ended up buying almost a thousand bucks worth of Lego's. Part of me wants to make my son skip Duplo's since they just look chunky.

If I have children that would be the hardest thing to do. I never played with any of that step stool to lego stuff. The wait for legos would be unbearable.

I guess id rock lincoln logs with um until then.

I feel you. My boy loves Thomas and the real wooden ones are super expensive. But it's his thing so I buy it for him.

He's also into sports and playing in the dirt which makes me proud. He's a tough rascal.

It's OK man. My son is 8 now. He got over Thomas between 4 and 5.
Right now he loves Legos and minecraft. You'll miss Thomas. Maybe it's that I miss my boy when he was toddler.

It's just a phase. We have hundreds of trains and train tables upstairs in his room still.

Same here, first Thomas which we still have everything, then Star Wars and Legos and now Minecraft. At least video games don't occupy physical space!

I remember when my cousin was into Thomas the Train. I wanted to find this thing for his birthday:

...but couldn't find anywhere that would ship to the US.

My bro's when they were kids used to be obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine and I would watch it with them from time-to-time. It's a great show to let your kids watch and is entertaining to watch. Either the Ringo or George versions.

Wow. That's almost the same path my son took. I don't like him to play games all day so I make him go to bjj at least twice a week. Also we go to the public pool and swim almost everyday.

Shaun the sheep, sophia, and frozen elsa this what mg niece likes and spider pranks on youtube

My son skipped over Thomas and went straight to the Cars Disney movie. I can handle that movie a lot more than Barney and Elmo

ITS TANK ENGINE YOU USELESS FUCKING FUCK

It's not a problem it's just a kid that likes a kids show, it'll then become cartoons and by the time he's 8 or 9 it's all be about wrasslin at which point you introduce him to lifting so he can be as strong as his heroes. Then at 16 when your son is swole as fuck and on the path to being a doctor because you emphasised the importance of academics as well as aesthetics you can look on proud. Just let the kid be a damn kid for now and let him enjoy Thomas THE TANK ENGINE.

Cars is terrible. The first duffer Pixar made. I'll stick with Doc Hollywood.

Anybody else's kids here obsess with Thomas. My boy is almost three and I bought around $200 worth of trains, play set, tents all within the year. He watches nothing else on TV except Thomas. Think I may have a problem or it's a kids phase

Absolutely normal. Unfortunately thomas toys are expensive as fuck. My kid loves trains but luckily he doesn't only love thomas so I bought him some train sets at ikea for super cheap. My wife made him a pretty badass thomas costume for halloween though.

George Carlin replaced Ringo Starr.

never got into this shit as a kid, but certainly remember it. Surprised it's still relevant now.

Not over here he didn't. Carlin unfortunately didn't mean as much over here as did in the States. To most people, he was Rufus in the Bill and Ted films. Shit, he was that to me for several years until I started looking up stand-up greats a while back.

I loved Thomas when I was a kid. I was really into trains I guess, too young to really remember.

To add a funny story, even though my son LOVES trains, and used to watch thomas a lot on tv. Then all of a sudden he became TERRIFIED of the show. I think he had nightmares about it. He was slow on talking so he couldn't really say why he didn't like it, but if someone turned it on he would cry and literally run away from the TV. I actually used it as a punishment if he did something really bad...I would say "I'm going to put thomas on TV" and that usually kept him in check. It wasn't until he was almost five and my wife made him a thomas costume for halloween that he started watching it again.

My son is more into curious george

lol, streaming that on netflix as we speak. It actually fucked with my son's speech. He started just grunting like the monkey instead of speaking.
