This video might sicken you, but it's the reason Tony Ferguson needs SOME kind of intervention.

Who was it that said stop the fight, and then Herb stepped in?

It is a brutal beating, in a way disturbing alot of trauma. But I do like it, no crowd, no commentators just violence. Loved Prides silent crowd, and I think they had like mics that you could hear strikes etc better.

It doesn't sicken me at all. Tony spent all those years acting like a tough guy and got his ass kicked.

Bro, miss crowdless arenas

It got old fast. And they turned it down the audio capturing the shots once they realized it was too loud. The firsts events at apex were cool but then it turned into something amateurish looking

And btw another good fight to hear the shots landing was Dustin Poirier vs Dan Hooker

I like it when these beatdowns become a food chain.

Max Holloway > Calvin Kattar > Giga Chikadze.

Now just imagine what Holloway would do to Giga, OH MY GOSH!

I kinda miss the empty arenas. The electric of the crowd was missing but it made the strikes sound like thunder like the good ol' days of Pride.

Yup that fight was brutal, he took so many flush shots for 5 rounds.

The corner doesn't really know Tony or care much, and this is the problem/issue with Tony. He has a new coach and new team for every single fight, no one can stand him for more than a few weeks, every fight there are different people with him, its never the same people. Tony is a very intense and difficult person to get on with, which is very well known, people don't stay around him long. Those corner people don't even know him much, they last for a month tops.

Here is the real question.. when have you ever seen Tony showing up to a fight with exactly the same coaches and exactly the same training partners. Its never.

That fight was one of Justin's best performances in the cage, when he actually put it all together

When Whittman told him not to throw 100% into his shots so wouldn't get gassed

Also Tony is just too tough for his own good

Hope Tony never retires, CTE is nothing compared how worse retirement would be for him

that was the beginning of the most legendary streak in ufc.

This was the beginning; it then progressed to fight after fight where Tony took substantial abuse. Tony was out for a long time in the Chandler fight and does not remember anything from the 2nd round until he woke up in the ambulance.

He shouldn't need a job from them.
Giving him a purpose by giving him a job is taking care of him.

Look at Forest vs Bonnar. Forest has a purpose working for the UFC so while his "Identity" of being a fighter ended he transitioned to something else. Bonnar had nothing once his UFC career ended. He went to Bellator to fight Tito and did some Pro Wrasslin and then spiraled into addiction. That's not the UFC's fault necessarily but it shows a clear difference. Fighters need to have a transition plan like all athletes. Many have their identity fully wrapped into being a "Fighter" and have nothing else.

We all have our "Identity" attached in part to what we do and who we are to the world. Our career, being a brother, father, coach, friend, hobbies etc etc. When all you have is fighting and you go from being adored and admired by fans to being irrelevant (as a pro athlete) due to no longer being competitive it can kill you if you have nothing else.
