Social This New Respiratory Virus Going Around

Whatever it is, it's worse than when I had Covid. Coughing, sore throat, gallons of mucus in my sinuses. In the past week, I've coughed so hard I've 1. Vomited

2. Almost shit my pants

3. Got so light headed I almost fell over

4. Almost crashed the car from coughing so hard

Stay healthy, Sherbros. I'm going on day 8 of this shit. The improvements are tiny increments and overall this has sucked major ass. I even got chest x rays to rule out pneumonia.

Was it RSV?

I am still trying to recover three weeks later - my poor mom had to go to the hospital because of it.

Wishing you a speedy recovery sherbro.

Yeah I just got sidelined with a virus here in PH that is pretty bad. Flu like symptoms, horrendous cough & 2020 Covid prime like body aches. 3rd day now & letting up a bit.
Pretty rough actually. Didn’t sleep a wink 2 nights ago. Also have a strained bicep from lifting, so yeah… 1st week of 25, no bueno.
Same, I had it the week of Christmas. Worse than Covid. Terrible headache, body aches, chills, nausea, and stomach pain and the shits. By Day 6 it turned into a chest cold that lasted another week. Deep couch, sneezing, coughing etc. This virus checks all the boxes with tons of symptoms.

We have had 3.5 times the flu cases in the UK this winter compared with last year(+75%).

RSV and colds up too by 66%. I think COVID has fucked everyone up!

It corresponded with the fog week we had accross USA and UK. It's about the same as the 2022-3 post COVID flu hit. That's despite more vaccinations, over 20 million this year.

New year gym crush hasn't happened. Shit is different!
SO TRUE, the Gym is not overcrowded like it usually is this time of year. And we got hit with that fog too, and thats exactly when the virus started.

I suspect I had COVID in bottom of '19 before it was a household name and remember coughing uncontrollably in the store and driving and was scared I'd pass out coughing.

my company gets VA contracts, almost exclusively hospitals. I worked a service contract covering security and access systems for a few years, now running hospital renovation projects. travel work.
I did travel RRT work for a bit, decided to stop after a few years and take a permanent position.

Travel work is good pay.

I ate a cod and chips from takeaway, woke up next day with dreadful headache then led into slightly bad cold symptoms. Was my first take away in 6 months so thats why i associate it. Other than than that its literally flu season and fear mongering is rampant about everything rn.

Still havent had covid though.

I haven't been sick in 8 years, never stopped training bjj during covid. Y'all must have some weakling immune systems.

Looks like I picked up a cold from my recent flights, annoying. At least it didn't happen while on vacation at least.
