This may be just me being old...but what is this about and why?

At what point did everyone start calling each other "bros" or something like that...imagine addressing someone correctly

is it tiktok/youtube culture just taking over?

and that leads me onto the question, WTF are these kids going to do when they grow up and cant speak to a human properly?
I'm hooked on watching police body cam footage... and it blows my mind when a couple gets arrested and the dude calls his lady 'bro'... maybe it just doesn't mean what we thought it used to mean?

Bro, this doesn't sound new.

about 5-10 years ago, it's annoying, but I guess each generation has their little things. I guess people have called each other "brother" forever, as in "brother can you spare a dime".

This thread reminds me of one time at an old job when the mail guy (who liked to stay and chat) was on a soapbox about how "the damn kids" would call sneakers "kicks" and this guy was no older than 50 and this was less than a decade ago. Anyways my boss (who was like late 60s maybe) walks in and is like "Man, you don't know what kicks mean? That's from my generation, you aren't that old!"

I do feel like "bro" being used by women is a fairly recent thing but c'mon man, unless you are like 60 "bro" isn't new

I was in a store recently and I heard these kind of deep for a girl’s voice saying “dude, bro…. Pick these up”.

I looked up and it was two college age girls. They sound like the loss of a few more brain cells would send them over the border to mongoloid country.

One time Paige Brueckers was in the Walgreens by my house and in the store, while talking to her friend, she began every thought with “broooooo” in this dopey voice like she just woke up after down 2 bottles of NyQuil

The Brits has used bruv in TV series since at least the 70ties

But I hate the bro, I saw a reality car show and a couple called their son bro.
Imagine being parents and address your 4 year old son bro...
