Media This is where Floyd Mayweather separates himself from Conor McGregor

Floyd and Conor are the two biggest draws in their sport, but Floyd is better at owning media, Conor always starts going erm eh erm eh when he is trying to come up with something to say, when he isn't acting like a wild man to sell fights.

This is one of the most iconic moments in Floyds career, he destroys the media and silences them in this rant. He shut them all down. Conor gets tongue tied when it comes to having to defend himself, Floyd dropping facts, you gotta respect that man. What makes this even sweeter is Floyd Mayweather destroyed and humiliated Manny Pacquiao when they fought, Pac looked like a defeated fighter who almost quit.

What's with your obsession with Pacquiao? I'm just curious.

People who think Floyd purposefully used a bad strategy or did not try against Conor to be nice to the fans or for whatever reason are delusional. If Floyd "carried" Conor for the first rounds it would be because he thought it would improve his chances of winning.

<36>

You don’t know what you saw.

Well Floyd is everything Conor dreams of being and has made a career of emulating and aspiring too be.

This however is the least of what separates Conor from Floyd.

Workethic drive and an unrelenting desire to leave a legacy as the greatest fighter too ever step into a Ring/ Cage is what really separates them.

What did Floyd do when he won his first Title fight, he fought another 26 of them in a row over 5 division while never cutting more than 5 pounds at any point beating almost every other legend in his path over two decades including winning a title at a weight he couldn't even makes the maximum in on 3 occasions.

What did Floyd do when he made his first 100 million and had enough money he never needed to step into a gym too train for a fight again? He decided he wanted to make 200 million next and got right back in the gym and right back too proving he was the best against top 5 opponents and he continued doing so into his late 30s and spanning 3 decades on route too becoming the first athlete too generate a billion dollars.

Conor is not even in the same universe as Floyd and needed Floyd too earn what will be by far the biggest payday of his career and because if that exposure was able to almost double his previous PPV record when he finally returned too MMA.

Of course Conor is heavily praised for coming back after making 100 million and "having no reason to fight anymore" and "had to be struggling to find motivation to train everyday with all that money in the bank" while its hardly ever mentioned Floyd was still the hardest worker in Boxing for a decade after making his first 100 million and continuing to put his unprecedented record on the line against the best of the best until he was nearly 40 and when he finally did retire is accused of ducking the next up and coming star of the day despite being in his 40's because he would "get exposed" if he fought "insert name here" as if he wasn't approaching his mid 40s cause people are that desperate to see him lose so they can say "see, he wasn't ever that good he just cherry picked the 27 straight World Champions or #1 contenders he fought and ducked (insert name here but mainly guys competing at 160 like B-hop and Williams despite Floyd never stepping into the ring on fight night above 151)"

Lol.

Floyd- Most accomplished and imo greatest Boxer of all time.

Conor- an opportunist who managed too parley 5 career top 10s into 2 titles, 3 title fights (and counting) and 0 defenses.

Other than being the too top earners in their respective sports history's this too men are nothing like each other as athletes.

Great post.

The gap in mentality/mindset between Mayweather and McGregor is like the gap in mentality/mindset between McGregor and an obese, unemployed neckbeard.

Floyd is intelligent and tactical with what he says and understands the game because he's been in it since he was very young, you gotta be literally retarded not to see that, he also spits some wisdom sometimes that's clearly a result of a lot hard work dedication to a craft

The biggest difference is conor is a risk taker whilst Floyd is extremely risk averse, waiting until his biggest challenger is well past his prime before fighting him, will fight an mma fighter in boxing butt would never step into their world etc.

If Conor try to talk that much in stand up position he will gas out

To Conor's credit he was able to take Floyd who is easily the best defensive boxer of all time to the 10th round, and he did it with zero professional boxing experience or bouts
You don’t know shit about boxing.

You’re obviously new to boxing. What you see in Mayweather now is the finished article. Somebody who fought his way to the top, to where he could then call the shots.

In terms of their career there is absolutely no doubt that Mayweather is the one who has challenged himself more.

mayweather is not that good at trashtakling. he can talk whatever he likes because he's undefeated, unlike losers like Covington and McGregor

This guy was accusing the guy who was thought to be his biggest challenge (at the time) for steroids....

If Conor accused Khabib of anything he'd be made a joke of and ridiculed.
He shut down the media they all was silent in that room, he then got the last laugh 5 years later when he almost made Pacman quit on his stool and destroyed him in one of the worst lopsided beat downs in history all after he requested USADA testing.

To Floyd’s credit he had the patience to drag the fight out for longer instead of knocking him out in the first round. Boredom eventually set it in the 10th and he said “that’s it”.

And yet he STILL couldn't knock Conor off his feet.

LMAO. Imagine if this was MMA? Yea Floyd wouldn't dare lol.

That incredibly boring fight .... was a one of the worst beatdowns in history???

LMAO

That video is a pile of bs, floyd did that every single time after a fight in the last decade. All BS so his crew of asslickers can laugh loudly and make him sound clever.
Floyd is separated from Conor because Floyd was by far the most accomplished boxer of his generation and an incredible athlete, was never defeated, and made a fortune that Conor can only dream about. Floyd wins over beasts like Corrales, De La Hoya, Cotto, Marquez or Mosley are classics, true masterclasses of boxing (I believe he probably lost his fist fight with Maidana, but in the rematch he left no doubts of his incredible talent). And yes, all those casuals who believe that "Conor took Floyd to the 10th round" have absolutely no idea of what boxing is about: Floyd toyed with Conor for four or five rounds to feed the hype and then, at 40yo and retired from the sport, gave him a spanking for the ages. Idiots.

Floyd should stfu after nearly getting his head removed against Conor Mcgregor in his very first boxing match exposing the sport as a joke

This man spells the truth. Even comparing the two is ridiculous.

They didn't say shit because Floyd would've pulled a fit and kicked them out or repeated the same shit over and over again.
Floyd won that fight clearly and showed beautiful boxing but it wasn't a brutal beat down....

Floyd wasn't "popular" because he was a wizard with his words. He was popular because he was irritating, annoyingly brash and arrogant as hell. People for the most part wanted to see him lose. On the flip side of it he is a fucking master of defence and high level boxer. The guy is a boxing genius but he comes off as simple sometimes when he's talking.

Conor is way more slick and comes off as less forceful with his shit talking. He's just not nearly as talented or even close to being on Floyd's level.
In the build up to the fight Conor ate him alive while Floyd's only reply was "hard work"

That's a myth and an excuse that Conor haters use( not saying you're one of them ). The truth is that Conor is too young and powerful to be taken lightly so Floyd had to go on the defense until Conor slowed down. Conor's countering ability is underrated being one of his best attributes and Floyd knew this which is why he couldn't risk his undefeated record and legacy by losing to an MMA fighter that was competing in his first ever pro boxing match. This is nothing against Floyd because he did exactly what he was supposed to do and was able to take Conor into deep waters before stopping him
Except none of that happened. Conor's slow with no punching power. Floyd didn't see Conor as a threat and walked over him.

Canelo hits harder and still barely fazed Floyd. Conor didn't fight this Floyd.

MMA rules = Floyd gets KO‘d in 1 minute

Very relevant and insightful read and video thanks TS
