I mean, you’re not wrong. I can’t imagine going to my boss in real life and asking for a pay bump. Not sure why that wouldn’t apply to a fighter either. That being said, if you’re delivering a product that risks your entire career value, worth, and future earnings potential like jones moving up to fight ngannou, I can understand it to a certain extent

Quite true. When I worked for a company, I was strategic and I accrued quite a few pleasant raises and bonuses, but when the 08 crash went down, I believe all raises were put on hold for a year or so.
