Adesanya was on the front foot the entire fight except when he was defending TDs. Neither guy was in there to take chances.

But yeah, his last three fights have felt like sparring sessions. Going to lose favor with Dana sooner or later unless there's a big finish.

can't argue with that actually. whittaker was equally trying to point fight and preserve himself

Costa really helped Izzy career by getting destroyed the way he did, Dana forgot about the Romero fight after that.

Maybe now the frustration with Izzy not finishing anyone will begin to brew again

Whitaker had the opposite problem from his last fight. First fight he was constantly overcommiting and putting himself way out there. This time he'd refused to follow up anything. It took great effort and set-up to get close, but everytime Robert would just leave seemingly satisfied with only throwing a double left.

Israel was constantly crowding Whitaker and throwing leg kicks and jabs, picking away at a comparatively lower volume Robert.

The takedowns landed didn't lead to any significant GnP or any considerable control.
48-47 Adesanya, was competitive, but not close.

I had Whittaker winning, it seems like the image and hype of Izzy heavily influenced the commentators. Similar thing happened with the Jan fight, they were exaggerated how many and every strike he landed. If you never watched Israel's fights against Jan and Whittaker II, just the commentating... you'd think Izzy was Goku..
