I'm trying to remember a book I read in the late 80's. It was a horror novel about zombie vikings who had been awakened in southern England by archaeologists who had discovered their longship.

I can remember the cover; it showed the longship and a zombie viking with his face rotting off. The blurb read,

From the North...from the past...the invaders had returned.

Trouble is, I can't remember the author or the title. Which is pissing me off because I don't have anything to read at the moment, and I'd love to buy this off Amazon or Ebay.

Yeah, there some similarities. When the undead Vikings appear, the weather becomes bitterly cold and the village the longship is discovered in is cut off by blizzards.
