This Guy Rules Ass

This here is one of the rare cases where I don't give a shit about form or methodology or any of that stuff. Maybe he doesn't warm up enough or maybe he rests too long between sets, maybe his butt comes off the bench, maybe there is no pause at the bottom etc but if I can still put up 3 plates when I'm that old anyone who don't like it can just keep it to themselves

He makes an interesting point about pyramids: some of the research I've read states that ramping up to a heaviest set is better for older lifters. Doing the same heavy weight across multiple sets can be too much for older lifters to recover from.

To me it is stupid. Who cares? Been there done that a long time ago and I am not even close to 70. They are just risking injury for no reason other than everyone cares about bench from Joe Weider marketing to sell benches.
I suspect it is an easy regression of ng/dl of total testosterone vs bench 1rpm.

Been there done that. No reason to destroy my shoulders to impress the internet young guys.

What maters as an old guy is hamstrings, low back, core, quads.

The entire concept of upper body strength is just a holder over of Joe Weider bench marketing.
