Basic manners and politeness.
I had a lot of bad ones too, especially since I went to Jesuit high school and corporal punishment was constantly on the menu. In my experience it's usually failed teachers who become principals. Seen it so many times. My parents always wanted me to become a principal and eventually a superintendent but I liked being in the classroom.Yeah obviously. Why else would you be so offended at the idea that a lot of teachers suck at their job.
A lot of teachers are pieces of shit. I saw some horrific abuses by teachers during my years as a student.
I had a couple of good teachers too, but the bad far outweighed the good. And the worst, most abusive teacher I ever saw became a high school principal. He actually got promoted.
It's 13 years minimum since there's also kindergarten. There are quite a few people who do post graduate degrees who are students until they're nearly 30. You should be batman or James Bond if you're studying full time for the first 25-30 of your life, but instead these people are barely functional, live in crappy apartments eating TV dinners doing post doc for like $50k. It seems like the longer you stay in academics, the less functional you become.
There was a time where it was…….then pussies began to come into leadership positions.Teach gun safety in schools.
You fuckin beautiful bastad, what an absolutely outstanding post. The idea that enlightenment requires organized religion blatantly ignores the depth of secular and philosophical paths explored by important thinkers in history. The list is exhaustive, but for brevity's sake let's take Carl Jung and Søren Kierkegaard. Jung’s concept of individuation, where one integrates all aspects of the self, offers a clear path to enlightenment through psychology, not religion. Kierkegaard, meanwhile, saw enlightenment as the product of authentic, personal choices, rooted in existential reflection rather than dogma. Roughly speaking, of course.
Even modern myths like those found in Marvel serve the same purpose as ancient ones, offering fans archetypes to grapple with morality, identity, and personal growth, all while being easily digestible for those who might not be intellectually equipped to tackle philosophy. They provide guidance on the path to self-understanding. Could it be that those you deem to not "feel" what you feel or be as enlightened as your self-proclaimed enlightened Hindu friend, could possibly feel a sort of personal enlightenment themselves on a level neither of you have experienced? Remember, just because some Zorks are miserable and all Zips are Zorks, does not mean all Zips are miserable.
And, interestingly, while religious wars have been common, I’ve yet to hear of a clash between Jungians and Stoics. Maybe that’s because these non-religious paths to enlightenment are equally, if not more effective without the baggage of dogmatic conflict?
Spirituality does not equal religion, I think you're confusing the 2 sir.@PaddyO'malley
you brought up carl Jung. he was deeply versed in spiritual experience of the kind I speak of, believed in it and even wrote a letter in praise of alcoholics anonymous attesting to its ability to produce spiritual experiences in people with the capacity to transform human beings and get them sober.
I dont think you understand much of what I'm saying if you think that is my position. in fact YOU are the one that cannot recognize that the two can and do exist together and to you own detriment. there are literally millions of saints in every generation from every religion proving my position. its astounding you can make the argument you are making in light of that evidence even.Spirituality does not equal religion, I think you're confusing the 2 sir.
I know that you've said nobody can reach enlightenment with some kind of religion/group.I doint think you understand much of what I'm saying if you think that is my position. in fact YOU are the one that cannot recognize that the two can and do exist together and to you own detriment. there are literally millions of saints in every generation from every religion proving my position.
where are they being produced outside of it? and what criteria are they measured by? what is the standard? what are the stages of growth? where are the maps?
its crickets when I asked you these questions but it should not be. its NOT crickets when you ask Buddhism or Christianity. they KNOW the way.
dude!!! religion is the ONLY thing producing saints. just because you are totally uneducated doesn't make you right..... saints are ONLY produced by religions.....I know that you've said nobody can reach enlightenment with some kind of religion/group.
Being on a spiritual journey/path has zero to do with religions.
We see all of this different, and that's ok really sir.
You fuckin beautiful bastad, what an absolutely outstanding post.
I knew one asshole would understand where I was coming from lol.
This post is why a lot of us love you sir.
You have too much to add without hiding behind the silly...really.
You have a damn good mind, and I fully appreciate it.
Ok enough with the sucking your dick lol
Religion is the only thing producing saints, because its the only thing that uses them.dude!!! religion is the ONLY thing producing saints. just because you are totally uneducated doesn't make you right..... saints are ONLY produced by religions.....
where are saints being produced outside of it? and what criteria are they measured by? what is the standard? what are the stages of growth? where are the maps? where are the concerted efforts to grow spiritually outside of religion? if/when you find any you certainly to NOT find them making progress without recourse to religion. in fact you find them getting nearly 100% of what they teach from religion.
I'm also NOT saying you must become religious man!!!! I don't think that. what I'm saying is you must have recourse to religion in order to have a deep spirituality, to know the way, to know the maps, to know what you need for the journey etc.
its crickets when I asked you these questions about maps, stages, means etc but it should not be. its NOT crickets when you ask Buddhism or Christianity. they KNOW the way.

what do you mean by "uses them" "they" produce them and they reveal the true potential of all human beings.Religion is the only thing producing saints, because its the only thing that uses them.
