Things fellow Sherbros don't know about you....

I am the 2023 and 2024 Beer Stein holding champion at two Bars in NY during Oktoberfest. I won in 2023 at Bierhaus in Manhattan and came back and defended it in 24. Did the same at a bar in my town. The one at Bierhaus was over 10 minutes both years.

That's pretty cool. Your arms must be yoked!

What is your hypothesis?
That your diaphragm and intercostal muscles are designed to make your lungs breathe while you sleep.

But if you have this CPAP machine that forces air into your lungs to keep your airways open, then these muscles don't need to work very hard, so they get weak and you become dependent on the machine.

There's a case I read about where a dude slept at a friend's house but he forgot his CPAP and he actually died that night. And they use his story to reinforce how important CPAP machines are, like you'll die without it, when I believe that in reality it's was his DEPENDENCE on the CPAP that killed him. His intercostal muscles and diaphragm had gotten so weak that he couldn't survive one night without his CPAP.

You'll see this kind of pattern everywhere.
1. You start injecting testosterone and you body stops making it.
2. You use chap stick and you body stops moisturizing your lips naturally.
3. You wear thick padded shoes and your feet muscles get weaker.
4. You use a motorized scooter because you're fat and it only makes you fatter.

Every time we make an artificial thing, our body says, "ok, goes I don't need to do that thing at all anymore" and you get weaker.

It's not natural.

Your body knows how to breathe. If you have sleep apnea then maybe lose weight or get your nasal passage fixed, or hell, just snore and your wife can wear earplugs. I don't have all the answers, but I know getting a machine to do something your body should unconsciously do on it's own is bad news.

A CPAP machine takes in room air, then filters and pressurizes it before delivering it through a tube and into your mask. The continuous flow of air gently keeps your tongue, uvula and soft palate from shifting too far into your airway. This stabilizes your breathing and improves your overall sleep quality.
You still have to use your muscles to inhale the air since a CPAP machine is not a ventilator

Yeah I know how it works. It doesn't fully breathe for you like a ventilator, but the amount of air that it pushes in still means that your body doesn't need to do it.

I don't know the numbers, but for example if the machine does even a little bit of the heavy lifting, like 10%, then your body only needs to do 90% of the work. Over time this makes your own unconscious breathing weaker.

But you'll die sooner if you don't use the CPAP because your fat ass stops breathing, constantly as you sleep <Fedor23>

This is my fourth Sherdog account. My first one I had from August 2006 to April 2007. I got banned for calling the mods the “fun police”. It was named Tbonetron and it’s been banned so long it only shows up in old threads like “I met BJ Penn at the airport” as simply “Deleted User” or something.

My second account @Tbonetron2.0** got banned in 2014 for a comment I made in the thread about the guy whose wife kicked their dog. I won’t repeat the comment, but I stand by my position that the banning was unjust after numerous other posters told the TS to assault or even murder his wife. C’est la vie I guess.

My third account @Basil** got banned after a mod realized I was a previously banned poster I guess.

My current account was also banned by @Cool Hand Luke as I was once again discovered as being a previously banned poster, but during the great Sherdog reset of December 2015 when they brought in the like system somehow my ban got undone by some glitch in the system and I was able to sneak back in.

I’ve been trying to fly straight ever since.
Get your act together, mister!

I have a profile on IMDB simply because the director of this very small film I was a very small extra in decided he wanted to hook me up. Cool guy!
