Just got some of Chad's results from the IPL World's and they're not good, I'm afraid. He attempted 837 in the Squat and failed three times. According to the IPL Facebook, this was not a depth issue; Chad just did'nt seem to have the power. It looks like he had an off-day at the worst possible time.

I don't have any numbers for Chad's Bench or Deadlift. I don't even know if he attempted them.

Chad is still a young man with a tremendous amount of potential, and I'm sure he will compete again successfully.

I'd recommend power cleans and snatches from the floor and from the blocks, if you have access to them. Outside of that I can't offer much input without seeing you lift brotatoe.

I'll just do the full lifts. I am still fighting to get under the bar properly with the full clean.
 
Clean 88 lbs x 3. I wasn't feeling it today. I just stopped and did some stretching and all of that fun stuff.

I've always read the opposite with regards to the butt-wink. What's your opinion on the matter ?

The "butt-wink" generally means lumbar tension is compromised and that the glute activation is less than ideal.

So, no, in my opinion it is not a good or normal thing and should be avoided.

Granted their dark pants makes it difficult to be 100% but it appears to me that they have absolutely no wink and maintain fantastic tightness throughout the movement. That's why I posted that particular video. The Chinese are almost always a good example... for damn near everything. :)

No. I'd have take one, and under my circumstances I can't even go "heavy" right now.
 
Imagine applying that "butt-wink occurs naturally, so it's okay" logic to other lifts. "Oh, you flare the shit of bench, but that's natural, so don't you dare tuck those elbows", "Oh, you're pulling yourself under the bar way to soon when cleaning, but it's happening naturally, so that's okay". "Deadlifting with a rounded lower back is the natural thing for many people, so round the shit out of that lower back".

See, it's terrible reasoning. I think it's best to ignore Broz.
