Same year, both Maybe the 2 best films of the 00s.

I go back in forth on this one. I think TWBB has it beat slightly. But No country is almost a flawless film.

I hated TWBB, trailers looked amazing, movie was so dumb

I thought twbb was overrated (like a lot of top IMDB movies), maybe I just need to watch it again.

I couldn't even make it through there will be blood. Boring trash

No country.

Its the one movie adaptation that's head and shoulders above the book.

There Will Be Blood is the better film, but Zodiac is my favorite movie of 2007. Infinitely rewatchable. Also, the No Country book is better than the film, the film is missing too much of Sheriff Bell.

Never watched Zodiac. Wanna read NC. 2006 - 08 was a huge time for films. no country, twbb, TDK, iron man, casino royal, etc.

There Will Be Blood got robbed that year for the best picture Oscar.

I like milkshakes but not enough to say TWBB was even remotely close to No Country.

I preferred TWBB

I like that movie but it is way overrated. Redemption is missing in a lot of people's lives so it really resonates with a lot of folks.
we are in a thread about There will be blood and you're calling Shawshank overrated ?

You could argue I spose that TWBB is almost the anti Shawshank, whilst its more artful I think it does also give you a story that's very easy to follow of Plainview as a personification of greed/ego. No Country in some respects seems a bit more pulpy but you could argue theirs more going on below the surface.

Personally I would say that The Master is really Thomas Andersons masterpiece so far, just as good looking and well performed but with a rather subtler hand.

Don't care which is the "best". That's like discussing who's GOAT or P4P best.I know No Country was probably the most engaged I've been in a movie for two decades. And I'm not THAT old, so two decades kinda counts like forever.

So had this been a poll, I would have voted for No Country.
