Prime Machida punishes Rumble for every sloppy entrance, making Rumble think too much which leads to him getting frustrated, gassing, and eventually giving up, or just losing an UD.

Rumble is super dangerous at LHW tho, so you never know what clips Machida and ends it early, but thats all I'd give him in this fight, a punchers chance.

I think Rumble could certainly win. He’s comfortable fighting at range and has a kicking game. He’s also quite a lot bigger. Machida might have just danced around him but I don’t think this is a horrible fight for Rumble skills wise. If Rumble mentally checks out it would be, but it’s not like Machida is going to smother him and gas him put.

Was machida even that great? Once he started faced a truly great fighter in shogun he got beat both times in all honesty. He got beat by rampage and this was when he was starting to decline and get lazy. Some people consider rumble a better version of rampage which is questionable, but I'm just surprised so many people are picking against him
