There is something fishy about the ufc shirts costing $85

Asalways, consumers will vote with their wallets.

Suckers will reward bad behavior.

It's that simple.

It's definitely not a generic shirt. A non-branded shirt like that would easily cost $20-30. It's not some plain cotton T-shirt, it's some kind of synthetic blend... I thought that was pretty obvious.

Polyester blend shirts are now the popular thing (see Under Armour). I would bet it's a polyester blend...no cotton.

Not even close. I can buy similar shirts for roughly $8 CAD from several of my wholesalers; and that's list price for my small company. Reebok would obviously get a much better rate.

So you

I think the price is a tad high. Not crazy or anything but a little high.

When you look at other shirts made out of similar material by like Under Armor and Nike or whatever your looking at a solid $50+

Honestly I think it has basically been proving that MMA fans really don't buy much merchandise that features a certain fighter. There was a very small window of about 2-3 years that MMA clothing companies did well with walk out shirts. The ones that sold well really didn't feature a fighters likeness per say, but a popular design of that era with the fighters name underneath it (ie: the Affliction and Silverstar fighter shirts).

Hopefully if this fails quickly on the sales side the UFC and Reebok will quickly regroup and come up with short designs and T shirts with other advertiser who pay a yearly fee to the UFC to advertise on them for the year. Create another 15 million in the pot or so and double the current sponsorship payout tables. Just look at all of it from an advertising stand point and not merchandise sales.
