Even though everyone insists he's (and only he not his boring af opponent) the reason his fights are boring, he's the one who has the most exciting moments in the fights and actually produces effective offense

Funny how Wonderboy AND Maia, two of his three defenses, both go on to have boring fights or have a history of having boring fights, yet both had their offense nullified or got flat out punched into a living death.

Dont try to explain that to the haters. They are so fucking stupid that will argue that Woodley vs Wonderboy I was a boring fight.

Both wonderboy and maia had a bunch exiting fights pre-woodley.

It takes two to tango

Tyrones game plan for both fights was to avoid his opponents offence/stay defensive.

He could very well have been agressive and still win. Its not like its guaranteed youll lose for engaging

Wonderboy-Woodley 2 was horrible but they both deserve criticism.

If Maia cant sub you he makes it boring.

I think if Woodley pushed more he could have finished Maia.

This is actually one of my Sherdog pet peeves. People talking out of their asses in general, but specifically talking about Wonderboy-Woodley 1 and 2 as both being boring.

Wonderboy-Woodley 1 was awesome.

Woodley has two defences. First Thompson fight was a draw. He just retained the belt.

Not a hater, just someone who laughs at the notion that T-Wood is anywhere within sight of WW GOAT status. He needs a bunch more defenses against top-ranked opponents including accepting opponents he doesn't like. GOAT status isn't an entitlement.

Yeah, about that. Other than a juiced up Marquardt 10 years ago, no one has finished Maia. Not Anderson or Weidman. Not Condit or Brown. Not Usman or Covington. 22 straight fights without getting finished.

Woodley is boring. Even in the fights he gets finishes, he is boring.

Catching a big shot during a fight that is boring up until the finish doesn't negate it being boring.

True but he did get saved by the bell against a Colby.

20 more seconds and that fight is stopped. Maia was done and colby was smashing him.

He's the common denominator in several very boring fights.

Therefore, he has to be considered part of the problem.

Thats a good point. I just think with Woodleys power and Maia slowing down and his age being a factor that Woodley may have been able to get a finish in the later rounds. Maia is tough as hell no doubt about that.

Anomaly? Lol GSP was called boring his whole career once he got the belt, while he output 2-3x, sometimes even more offense than Woodley does and his opponents just went 100% defense mode and he was labeled the boring one when he was the one constantly pushing the pace.

Maia was old, washed up, and still recovering from the concussion that Woodley gave him. It's like Mir being able to finish Nog when the prime versions of Fedor and Cro Cop couldn't.

Woodley is an exciting fighter against the right opponent. What A lot of people don't realize is that Wonderboy and Maia are elite, elite specialists that you have to fight a certain way unless you want to be on the end of a highlight reel, and nullifying guys like that can lead to a boring fight.

Well, I wasn't really disputing the level they were at by that time they fought. The Maia that fought Colby had better standup than the one that fought Nate but yes he was much older so he definitely was not anywhere near his athletic prime that he would have been when he fought Nate.

The person I replied to mentioned Usman and Colby not being able to finish Maia and they didn't but Maia was done against Colby at the end of the fight. A few more seconds and it probably gets stopped. He wasn't intelligently defending.

Exactly right, can be very exciting vs the right opponent.

I love watching marquart bounce his head off the cage that shit was amazing.
