Most, maybe, but as Judo says, he was actually begrudgingly pro-Clinton for a time. I believe he was pro-Paul as Pimptight, too. And he was an embarrassingly earnest fan of a blowhard talk show host named Dylan Ratigan, would regularly post his angry rants.

I only lurk in the heavies. More so when a big fight comes up.

If you are offering to let me change my username, I might be able to think of a more fitting name.

And no, I never said that anything I said was dishonest or conflicting. My position has always been that Zinn is lying. M position has always been that Zinn intentionally twisted statements to fit his narrative. My position has always been that a half truth is a lie. Your position is that I'm "lying" because I forgot that a week prior to one specific comment I made that I used the term "half truth", and want me to bet that you can't prove I didn't say that, when I just said I did in regards to that comment. LOL man, just to be clear here, this started when I asked for a source for your claim. Getting you to provide one, was like pulling teeth. When you finally did, you refused to admit you were speaking in hyperbole.

This is the first time you have admitted that you were speaking in hyperbole. You never gave any ground, only insisted that you were 100% right the entire time.

Accurate language is important. A lie is a lie, a half truth, is a half truth. A soldier is a soldier, and a man is a man.

To call a half truth a lie, you need to give context to this from the start. Calling something a lie, without explaining you mean half truth is a lie. Saying Zinn claimed Columbus brought 1200 soldiers, with your interpretation that his quote said men which means soldiers, without leading with this explanation is a lie.

It isn't semantics, it is the argument you made without offering the context you later backtracked to.

The fact is that if you would have made your argument in full from the start, we might have had a meaningful debate, but getting you to explain what you are now claiming was like pulling teeth.

Now, that is as much ground as I am willing to concede to you, take or leave it, but understand if you want to continue this, I will continue to escalate.

I literally stopped reading right there. I posted the exact same link about 5 times. The only thing that was "like pulling teeth" was getting you to understand that "1200" and "twelve hundred" are actually not two different things. This is getting beyond stupid.

Of course what is really interesting, is that I want to bet lfd0311 on something that has already happened, and let a mod decide who is right, where Jack wanted to bet on the future.

Funny enough, for some reason he won't take the bet.

Where you started with a claim that said Howard Zinn said in his book that Columbus brought 1200 soldiers with him, and this made him a liar.

You then were forced to provide the quote, and it says 1200 men. You also then backtracked to saying Zinn was telling half truths.

The mod is the deciding factor in the bet, they will decide whether you are being dishonest, or if my accusation of dishonesty on your part is false.

You will get to provide context to your position in 1 post. I will get a 1 post rebuttal, you will get a closing 1 post argument. The mod must side with one party or the other.

It birthed this entire thread idea but has yet to meet its full potential. After a few pages. @Fawlty is the only poster among us to have balls. Not only have balls but to whip them out and place them right on the table. We still haven't even had a two way bet yet.
