Falsely accusing someone of rape while destroying his reputation , sending him to jail for X years and making him pay lot of $$$ for legal fees so that you can syphon some money out of him is pretty malicious don,t you think ? Perhaps those persons shouldn't be jailed twice as long as actual rapists but they certainly should face charges themselves if their claim is proven false in court.

Now i'm not saying this is the case with Conor and that girl as we don't know for now but i'm talking in general. I knoiw that if i ever was falsely accused of rape and proven innocent i'd counter sue the fuck out of whoever did that to me for libel and trying to ruin my life. False accusations (not only rape) are not to be taken lightly. It's very rare but it does happen once in a while.

I have no issues with them doing serious jail time for false accusations. It is a serious crime and a twisted thing to do. And if it leads to a situation where your false accusations send someone to jail for 15 years.. then yes, I'd be fine with you doing 15 years as well for that, as well as being sued.


But to make the penalty for false accusations double what the penalty is for ACTUALLY RAPING SOMEONE is completely asinine and something that only rapists and future rapists could ever defend (Im not saying you, but the original guy who said it). The biggest problem already with rape cases is that women are afraid to come forward. This would only heavily exacerbate that. Really the only people I can think of that would support this is people who want to one day become a rapist (or already are).
