When has she had cardio issues before? I don't remember her ever looking gassed in her 5 round fights with Joanna or Paige. Maybe I need to rewatch.

she did fine considering she's coming back after 1 year and a bad injury
 
I don't think she'll be able to beat Zhang either, at least not with this cardio - i wouldn't even say her gas tank is bad, but it's almost impossible to fight someone with huge power and a great gas tank (like Andrade and Weili) while not getting tired fast yourself.
I think her boxing was just as good as it used to be in the first fight against Andrade, but Andrade's stand up has improved a lot, mainly defensively.

Thoughts?

The 2nd JJ fight is the one that throws me off, but in the Paige fight I'm pretty sure Rose wasn't really taxed because she was in dominant positions the entire time. Paige was the one fighting for her life. Rose showed gas issues against KK, it could've just been the body knees, but they showed themselves again this weekend and around the same time (late second going into third round). Based on the little evidence I have I think Rose doesn't necessarily have a bad gas tank, but as soon as you push her out of her comfort zone/rhythm, she drains quickly. I'm basing this off the Paige and JJ rematch, two five round fights where Rose was in control of the pace.
 
rose looked bad but she won 29-28. not sure which round that one judge gave to andrade

Only uneducated fans thought that though. People both hated and underestimated Joanna, when she still was the greatest 115er ever in terms of accomplishments and easily one of the most well-conditioned athletes on the roster.
She's also one of the best strikers in UFC history relative to their division by far.

Nah

I fully believe Rose at her best can beat Zhang skill for skill
but she seemed off her game that night

Zhang is a beast but far from unbeatable.

man i coulda swore she just won a SPLIT decision where one judge only needed one round for her to lose... shes great, probably the best in the division, but shes not head and shoulders above everyone else... the rose we got at 251 loses to her and andrade should never have been champ.

Nowhere did I say I don't think she can beat Zhang

I said she can beat Zhang if she fights to her full potential ( with that fire)

just not based on what we seen Saturday. personally felt it was a mediocre performance from her.

she can do better and if she comes with that, she can beat anyone on the planet.

her fight is with herself first and foremost.

I'm not sure she wants it as bad as Zhang sometimes. Sometimes she does, other times it seems that true fighter fades away.

Whoops, my fault.

I agree with you, it'd be stupid to say it's impossible, but i just don't see it happening, unfortunately not even with a Rose at her absolute best and i really am a massive fan of her!

Really? Zhang showed a lot of technical holes against Joanna.

Id say peak for peak, they're reasonably evenly matched skill wise.

Rose has better boxing than anyone in the division by far. shot selection, counters, instincts.

Well Rose KOd Joanna then had a dominant five rounds against her while Zang went to war. The KO over Andrade was good but lets not pretend she is on some new level we havent seen.
