The UFC's Paige VanZant problem...

Shit gets funnier here every day.
 
if they werent completely incompetent, the ufc would proportionally give fighters a promotional push based on rankings alone.....

this would be a better long term investment strategy as the fighters who were good would all become big starts in proportion to their skills....

but the ufc has this attitude that the fighter should also do the promoters job for them....

the ufc saying to the talent 'go promote yourself' while they take 85%+ of the revenue.....might as well be saying 'go fuck yourself'.....

Paige will never be a good fifntet and her celebrity status will dry up quickly within a year or two. She is a generic blonde that has no out of the ordinary features. People who think she's some sort of goddess need to get out more.
 
Rose's looks are not a problem. Her thug attitude and style is. Joanna has the same problem to a lesser extent.

Paige is more relatable to casuals.
 
The UFC should stop looking for marketability amongst its fighters and start promoting the best in the world for their fighting ability. I truly believe the rest would fall into place that way.

They are falling into the trap of believing they can replicate Conor McGregor. McGregor is self-made. If he wasn't knocking people out in every fight like he predicted, he would never have gotten big.

The best, most extreme example of this is CM Punk. You can't sell a guy (or a girl) as a legit fighter if he/she is not a legit fighter. It will only end up in failure and wasted money.

a lot of what you say has merit, but Punk & UFC made a lot off his fight.

Rose is that "every" girl , where Paige is that wannabe chick hanging out on Hollywood blvd hoping to get noticed by Harvey Weinstein....

i used to be a pvz hater but dam the reasons you listed were dumb asf. pvz won me over with her positive attitude. ppl just jelly.

Throw every money at Alexa Grasso. She's the most marketable woman in all of MMA.
 
Rose should be very marketable, very charismatic, intriguing history and a natural beauty.
Then again, maybe I don't understand the market and casuals only react to super cunts like Ronda and Joanna or attention whores like PVZ...

The real reason Rose wasn't marketed as much is because she kept losing, and then shaved her head making her even more unattractive. Dana was hyping her up as the next Ronda Rousey on TUF and everyone was on her jock until she lost in the finals in dominant fashion.

Never understood why they have pushed PVZ so hard. I understand they need some good looking female fighter to get much attention, but she's not even hot, mediocre at best. They have other fighters that look as good or better on the roster, and that are actually good

They should pay her next opponent to run at her with a flying knee so Paige can sidestep and take her down for a submission. Maybe pay her a little extra so she refuses to admit it was a terrible strategy no matter how stupid it makes her look.
 
That's why you build a round proven talents, not popularity or looks.
