Peak Maynard gives Khabib all he can handle.
Getting that many people to agree is fucking near impossible, let alone on an issue like unionization. Not to mention contractors can be fired for striking, they don't get the protections employees do.If 650 of the 700 and change fighters under UFC contract got together and refused to fight again until there was something more equitable, they could probably have things wrapped up in 6 months or less.
Still very hard. To be blunt and condescending, a lot of fighters would be like Sam Alvey and oppose a union because they don't like them politically or on principle, even though they would benefit from it. And yes, it's hard getting the first people to step forward, especially since the UFC tends to target those people. Keep in mind, if I'm a normal company, I can't send goons to beat down union organizers. If I'm the UFC, I can match up a fighter who wants to unionize unfavorably and pay their opponent a bonus if they break their arm.But isn't half the roster or more American/American-based? It doesn't sound so impossible in that sense. What seems hard is that an influential group should take the first step and convince the rest, and that would involve confronting the UFC even if you are making good money.
In the sense of maximizing profits, no, but several million in gross for an event is still pretty damn great. It's not even an opportunity loss really. And if the last fight only sound 200k (which I doubt), the UFC has no one else but to blame but themselves if they can't sell HWs.I heard it sold 200k buys... after paying for the arena, every fighter... 15 million isn't a ton of money gross...
Different Era …., Maynard has always been a baby imo …..Don’t sign a contract if it’s not enough money
Let's the guvment involved in everything! They do everything so well!Nothing will change unless it's court ordered. I firmly believe that. The UFC should pay fighters more, and the bigger names should get a higher percentage while the floor is higher for those who are working their way up.
1,000 threads won't make a difference either way.
Still, if you're a fan of a fighter, there are ways to support them. You could purchase some of their merchandise if you are so inclined.
Why bump my thread it's a completely different article and much more revealing??

I think you missed the point about lion's share. Athletes in other sports get a fair share from merchandising. You buy a team jersey with a player's number/name, the player gets his fair share.Nothing will change unless it's court ordered. I firmly believe that. People have no issues supporting the athletes in boxing, baseball or soccer because they don't get ripped off. The UFC operates like those shoddy restaurateurs who demand a share of the waiters' tip. This seems rare, but does exist. If you knew that the restaurant did this, would you tip more to compensate for the owner's take? Or would you simply stop going there?
The UFC is Amy's Baking Company of sports. They operate exactly the same. Dana White and Samy Bouzaglo are exactly the same. Sociopathic, petty gangsters. The difference is the UFC fans. They would have defended Samy Bouzaglo in this video, saying the waitresses knew what they signed up for. Nobody was forcing them.*
*Of course, the miserable cunts here who say they knew what they signed up for and nobody was forcing them all the time will say they wouldn't. And we believe their lies just like we believe Dana's.
