They are negotiating rights deals atm and Conor having two fights left would have been a big carrot in the deal i'm sure. Now say a Netflix was to want to hop on board i'll imagine that Conor having that verdict and the potential drama that comes with headlining someone that has lost in court over S.A will make them not go in as hard.

Just like Kobe and Mike Tyson never sold any tickets after their rape trials.

Well Tyson was in jail for a while after and it took some time before he could could sell tickets. Kobe settled.

You're missing the point though, on one hand you have the UFC saying if you sign the deal you have Conor contracted for 2 fights and now on the flip side there's is extra PR negativity that comes with booking that fight than before. The fan will still buy it but if it was say Netflix they will risk people unsubbing based off who they are promoting, it's happened before.

Meh.

Connor fighting again would be a bonus for the UFC brass at this point.

If they’re lucky they’ll get one, maybe two, more paydays out of him.

I’m sure they are well aware of that.

You missed the point i'm making. While the are in a room going back and forth on numbers Conor being contracted would be on the top of the list of perks, it probally goes down the list after today.

I mean if the litany of negative stuff he's done hasn't bothered anyone by now then why would this all the sudden make a difference? It's seems that the worse his behavior, the more popular he gets. You would think the fact that he hasn't won a legit fight in over 7 years might make some difference as well.

It isn't 2015 anymore, Conor isn't all the UFC has to offer. I agree it will take something off the deal, but I don't think it will be as much of a financial blow as you're expecting. It isn't 2015 Conormania anymore, the guy hasn't even fought in the octagon for 3-4 years now.

It literally will make no difference.

Even if Conor fights again, the biggest thing will be when his opponent says something like "I will abuse/rape you harder than you did to that woman"

No you are missing the point.

Connor’s got realistically 0-2 fights left in him.

Very doubtful he’s near the needle mover he was……

UFC aren’t looking at him as a long term cash cow anymore. They’ll hope to get one final pay day out of him, but even that’s looking unlikely at this point.

No they wont.

Remind me again who just fought a week ago, oh yeah the convicted rapist who went to prison who just had 100 mill people watch the fight. Not defending Conor cause he's a piece of shit but this is a civil issue that he will appeal.

It really wont matter, he'll maintain he didnt do anything and shit will go on. Whether or not he fights again the UFC is gonna make a ton of money on their next deal.

I understand he's not where he was in 2015 but he's still their #1 star as messed up as it is. Whatever event he come back to (if he does) it's still going to draw massive numbers but now there's the question if it's worth it and since there's finally something official in the courts it's harder to brush off.

Enough time had passed for Tyson as fucked up as it is, people forget in time and he had kind of had his redemption arc so to speak.. Tyson wasn't getting deals done with the year it happened.

He is still probably the biggest PPV draw, but all of that is theoretical and hinges on who the UFC marketing machine pushes.
Unfortunately, this story will be forgotten within a month outside of hardcore places like this, which is why I'm almost positive it'll have little to no financial effect on the UFC.

They have plenty of stars now, and do not hinge on Conor exclusively to make beaucoup bucks anymore.

He's not going to jail, he's not convicted in court criminally. He'll maintain he didnt do anything, appeal it and thats it. I'm not saying he's gonna get massive sponsors or anything but fight sports isnt NFL or NBA etc.

If he fights in 8 months this shit will be an afterthought. And for the UFC Dana slapped his wife on video and that shit came and went like it never happened.
