Yes they are hoping that he fights and makes them money on events. Almost 2 years later and he's still not fighting. Every time they offer him a fight, he gets on the internet and acts like a little bitch.

He may not be costing them (which I doubt as he still gets money from video game content, they fly him to events etc) but he sure as hell isn't contributing in any meaningful way.

He's not on the sherdog rankings any longer nor is he even on the UFC rankings. So what's the point of having him on the roster if he isn't fighting, costs them money and isn't ranked? Let Bellator try to deal with him fighting every 2 years. At least there he won't piss hot.
 
They should have cut him a long time ago, but they won't.

Obviously his name still has recognition and they would rather wait for him to fight then let him go to a rival company. It's not really rocket science to understand why, they obviously feel he still has money to bring in, and that his antics are not severe enough to warrant a release for damaging the brand.

Go look at Matt Hamills record buddy, then when your at it look at Jons. Just like Reyes won 3 rounds on Jon and lost the fight, Jon was winning the fight until he did illegal strikes and lost. Sad, but true.

Looks like illegal strikes against the rules of the sport, therefore cheating. I didn’t make the rules brother, Jones lost. Just like Reyes winning the first 3 rounds vs. Jon and still lost, it does suck.

You mean to say he USED to bring in 500K on average. He hasn't done that in over two years and now the UFC gets guaranteed money from the ESPN deal so they are less dependent on particular stars. Not saying Jon isn't a draw or that the UFC doesn't want what he can pull, but at what point is he more trouble than he's worth?
