Some inactive champions who don´t believe in themselves are frustrating but there are some who do believe in themselves. I think the UFC should offer champions two different programs where a champion can chose one from them.
1. The GOAT program (This champion doesn´t want to sit on the belt but rather take on opponents every second month or even month and the UFC will try to feed him until he loses constantly on a month or 2 basis) This is a champion who believes in his skills and thinks he is the best in the world.
2. The Normal champion program (A champion who wants to take long time between fights)
I guaraantee you that only 4 fighters will choose this option if and when it becomes available.. Umar and Chimaev including Volk would have taken this ( If Umar and Chimaev were to lose they would just call it a career but they would run with it as long as possible taking on new opponents every month or 2. You can also add prime Izzy may have gone for this.
If a champion chooses the GOAT path it would be an epic run where one champion can headline multiple cards a year this will incraese the fanfare.
