The TUF 20 Fantasy League - General Discussion & Analysis (Registered Players Only!!)

Ha! I had it Rose by round #1 sub from the very beginning of the season until today, when I changed it to round #2. That preview calling this the fight of the season got me doubting the first round finish. Sigh...

What a letdown on that, too. I've thought the last two weeks' fights were better.

poor poor Bec has her hands full with Tecia

Also holy shit Xhizors goes from getting first 3 picks flawless

then doesn't make picks for 4 weeks....wooooooah man

Completely forgot to pick this week and it would have been at least 1 point because I was definitely picking Rose...

So does any anybody have an estimation of how many actual days there were between Tecia's first fight (which was a grueling 3 rounder), and this upcoming fight vs. Bec? Because of the TV schedule, it seems to us like that first fight was ages ago, but in reality her rest period probably wasn't that long, and of course Bec would be fighting fresh.

Tecia's back injury complicates this upcoming pick. In a previous interview, she said that the back injury she got doing pull-ups for Pettis made it difficult for her to sleep throughout the filming of the season. Obviously she chose to get back in and fight, but how injured might she be and still not turn down that opportunity?

Same thing for me. I gotta stick with my gut for now on. The is the second pick i've done that with.

Still wondering who these tweets were talking about considering the first round is just about over and the only "upset" was Randa beating Tecia.

i am set on taking Bec as my dark horse regardless of who she fights!

So I just noticed thanks to auto correct on mobile I picked Bed Rawlings do I need to purge ? Lol

congratulations everyone! :)

I would have picked a healthy Justine Kish to beat Bec. With Tecia, I`m torn. Yeah, Tecia is the better standup fighter and "scores" a lot and wins lopsided decisions. But, she supposedly has a hurt back. I think the height discrepancy will come into play. Bec is also very active and pushes a high pace. Neither fighter is likely to finish the other. So, it really comes down to which fighter is going to throw more scoring punches/kicks in 2/3 rounds. It would seem to play into Tecia`s hands...but maybe the second best at this type of fight (in the TUF house) is Bec. Plus, everyone and their mother seems to be picking Tecia...tempting to go for the upset...

It's funny how quickly the bandwagon empties when there's a slight indication of weakness. One bad fight and everyone is turning on poor Tecia. Don't forget, she was a title contender before the show and had recently beaten both Felice and Rose Namajunas, who are both still on the show after winning in the first round of fights.

Haha, no need, you're not getting any point next week anyway :D

Bec better have her tornado shelter up and ready, cause this lil force of nature is about to roll through!

Hahahaha...valid points...but it seems Tecia was "exposed" as they say. She`s still talented and still has a lot of potential, but she got beaten by someone with superior wrestling, and this 2nd chance fight is...what?...two weeks later? I doubt she has improved enough in that time to compensate for that weakness. And, she said she injured her back in the first episode (Was it just an excuse to cover up a bad performance?). She was the only fighter to get upset (according to their TUF rankings) in round #1 of the tourney. Is she now worthless? No. Is everything I just listed justifiable as potential reasons for not picking her to win the tournament or even her next fight? Yes.

If this was on a regular fight card with Torres having a regular camp with her team at ATT, I'd be picking her for sure. As it is, I am picking Rawlings. Torres hasn't shown much of an ability to finish fights in the past, so freshness and endurance and will is going to play a factor here. She will probably be winning the fight early, but as the fight drags on, I think she's going to have a problem with Bec's size and toughness. Also, from a mental standpoint, being ostracized and shunned by both teams could wear on Torres' psyche - which seems a bit fragile. Torres beats Bec 9 out of 10 times, but I think this is the right moment for the upset.
