The TUF 20 Fantasy League - General Discussion & Analysis (Registered Players Only!!)

TUF is built on the flawed premise that great fighters make great coaches.

In actuality, most of them can't even be trusted as cornermen.

Gil is a shining example for this.

Gil is a shining example for this.

Gill hasn't been that great, from picking fighters to game planning to keeping the peace. But he was giving HJC good advice before the fight about working in her guard. Then during the fight when Felice had her back, he kept yelling at Clark to turn so she would end up on top. But Heather completely ignored him and Felice nearly choked her out.

I wouldn't fault Gil in his cornering last episode at all. He was screaming instructions at her when she was on the ground and she just didn't do any of it.

I didn't fault Mir when Junie Browning didn't follow the cornering.

The other weeks Gil has blown, and I didn't like that he's let the animousity on his team fester, but even he seemed pretty annoyed with Clark.

His picks were awful though, Tecia over Calderwood?

Gil's cornering improved significantly during Week 5, but apparently his fighters no longer trust it like they used to before this 0-5 losing streak. Would be very interesting to see how it turns out in Week 6, I hope it's something other than listening to bad advices and lose or ignoring good advices and lose.

We joked about this when the team selection was made, but TUF 20 could soon be a clean sweep for Team Pettis.

On the other hand, if only one team Melendez fighter wins her first fight, it could be quite an advantage for her, as all the Team Melendez coaches can focus on helping her for the rest of the season, whereas the coaches of Team Pettis have to divide their attention among many fighters, and split their efforts even more when two Team Pettis fighters fight each other.

This is why I thought Felice might win by TKO.

We were shown this shiner in an episode #1 preview, and yet I knew that it wasn't the eye injury Heather got by grappling with Rose, even though it was the same eye (her left one), because we had seen Heather with a bandage over that earlier injury and yet there was no shiner present at that time. Also, Heather lost one of her previous fights (against Marianna Kheyfets) when it was stopped due to her eye swelling up, so I thought it could happen again.

Get used to me in the MVP line, it's going to become very familiar soon.

Man, these fights are going to become harder and harder to pick the later we get in this show. Especially the potential matchups. For instance there's Rose-JoJo, the flying armbar and snopes hair braided tournament winner vs. Scottish Anderson Silva. Or Ais-Penne, pitting the former 105 pounder against a former 125 pounder. Felice vs. Markos is a toss up to too IMO. We're going to see some separation in the next few weeks as the difference in ranked fighters gets a lot closer.

Is it incorrect to say at this point Severian could take Prediction Enhancing Drugs and still end up last?

I went from 3rd to like 11th because i picked wrong two weeks in a row

it doesn't take a lot to move up or down in this pool thats for sure especially with a max 3 points available!

Total number of fights in this tournament: 15 matches.
Maximum points possible: 45 pts.

After the past 5 weeks, we are now 1/3 into the tourney.

There are still 30 points up for grab, so it's perfectly possible for the score board to complete flip upside down, especially if the production team continue with this streak of non-spoiling trailers :)

Does anyone recall whether Aisling Daly and Angela Magana ever expressed any dislike of each other?

Entire Ultimate Fighter cast except injured Justine Kish will fight in the Finale

The latest season of The Ultimate Fighter is currently in full swing with the sixth preliminary fight between Aisling Daly and Angela Magana airing this week, but it appears there's good news for all of the women who participated on the show in regards to the upcoming finale in December.

UFC officials have confirmed to FOX Sports that 15 of the 16 fighters from this season of The Ultimate Fighter will compete at the upcoming finale on December 12 in Las Vegas.

The one fighter not on the card will be Justine Kish, who is still recovering from knee surgery to repair an ACL tear that was revealed on episode five of the series this year.

None of the matchups for the show will be announced until a later date of course because the tournament is still unfolding with preliminary round fights taking place for two more weeks before the quarterfinals begin.

The two finalists from the show will compete in the main event for The Ultimate Fighter finale on December 12 with the winner being crowned as the first ever UFC women's strawweight champion.

The other 13 fighters will get matched up on the card with one additional competitor yet to be named added to round out the seven fights for the finale.

It was likely from the start of this season of The Ultimate Fighter that all 16 contestants chosen would get another shot in the UFC because this is an entirely new weight class being created for the promotion. The UFC has signed a few more fighters at 115-pounds, but once the reality show finishes, the division can begin to flourish with a champion and a slew of contenders already signed.

Three other fights have been announced for the card including Daron Cruickshank vs. K.J. Noons, Jeremy Stephens vs. Charles Oliveira and Joe Procter vs. Yancy Medeiros. With the seven additional fights and the title bout it would currently place the card at 11 bouts for the evening.

The Ultimate Fighter finale takes place on Friday, December 12 from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.

that sucks for justine, but this confirms what some of us were thinking after seeing pictures of her knee post-surgery, and so recently too. she'll do well once she is healthy and won't have to worry about weight as much as she would have on the show.

i wonder who will be the *extra* brought in if the other 15 cast members are fighting?

*jelly bean* is waiting for wrist surgery as far as i know. juliana lima is fighting nina ansaroff on november 8th in brazil.

sorry to shoot down your possible SW ideas!

Considering that Paige Van Zant and Kailin Curran are fighting on Nov. 22 on UFC Fight Night 57, and Claudia Gadelha and Joanna Jedrzejczyk are fighting on December 13, which would seem to rule all of them out, I can't think of any other strawweight women with UFC contracts. Have I forgotten someone?
