The true GOAT chins in MMA

A lot of people already jumping the gun on Tony or Max or Nate having GOAT chin, but the true GOAT-tier toughness is:

1. Chris Lytle
.....
2. Carlos Condit
3. Everyone else

Until someone else fights 50+ times without ever being out cold even once, you can add them to this list.

For Lytle it is 70+ professional fights (including boxing and bareknuckle) and he was never KO'd or submitted EVEN ONCE. The only time he was even finished were due to doctor stoppage due to cuts. And not even because he fought clean like Khabib, he was absolutely massacred in multiple fights. His fight against Koscheck is possibly the most brutal domination that went to a decision.

I don't think anyone will ever replicate that kind of toughness in MMA, and certainly not at the UFC level.

Cody ?

But seriously I think Khabib's chin is underrated. He has taken some pretty clean shots to get the fight where he wants and hasn't really looked rocked at any point.

Condit and Lytle took shots from welterweights. Mark Hunt took flush kicks and punches to the head from HW kick-boxers and mma fighters, no comparison.

Let’s see Lytle or Condit take a left kick to the temple from Mirko Cro Cop, and get up and keep fighting.
Roy Nelson blocked A LOT of fists with his face and kept standing.

And Roy Nelson is another great chin, but between the two I give it to Hunt because

This. Dude has fought an absolute murders row of KO artists and has never been finished. Doesn't always get his hand raised, but the fact he's never been knocked out is astounding.

Lytle is a beast, no question about it. But a lot to do with not getting KO’d is great defense and movement. For example it’s hard to tell how great Wonderboys chin is, since he hardly gets tagged cleanly.

Hunt and Nelson take bombs in the HW division, and that to me puts them ahead of everyone. Hendo is probably my 3rd, Jon Jones has also taken clean shots from a lot of heavy hitters.

I think Mike Perry’s chin is underrated.
He can take an abundance of damage before going out. It looks like it is finally starting to crack though.

I would say Ngannou, because his defense sucks and he gets tagged right in the chin, coming in, worst possible case and keeps going like nothing

I agree with Mark Hunt. Yes, the Melvin ko happened but that was a sick 1, 2, combo that landed just right. I don't think Chris Lytle would've been on his feet after taking those shots either.

But the amount of hard shots hunt has absorbed and then kept fighting through is insane. Especially when you consider some of the power hitters that have tagged him.

The Melvin ko just proved he was human. But he's still the best human at taking punches.
