The Thing vs Alien

The Thing, absolutely the better film.

The Thing is good, but Alien has a cerebral element than the other doesn't.

Tough,but I'll go with the thing.its close though,love both films,sigourney in her underwiare will for ever be a favourite scene for me. But the thing has that far greater replay value and doesn't leave me feeling dirty afterwards.strange I know.

The Thing for me. Alien is awesome, but the paranoia and circumstances of the thing just creep me out more. I mean, when you really look at it, once they figured out what was going on they all pretty much knew they were F'd. They hoped they weren't, but they knew and in the end MacReady just went with it. He was like, yup, were hosed, and possibly ended the movie by having a drink with the thing that just killed them all. Awesome.

That's what I love about the ending. We actually have no idea if Childs or Mac is the thing. I think Carpenter revealed that it is one or the other, though he won't say who it was.

I love the Thing but it's just a cult classic, while Alien is a true classic.
