Didn’t lose me at all, I just don’t share the same perception. You think Trump has gained support because liberals have shot themselves in the foot with their policies. I think congressional Dems have screwed up certain things; but I don’t think Trump or the Republican Party has done anything to endear themselves to a significant number of people who didn’t vote for them before. In fact, I think the country is tired of the Trump/ Republican circus. Either way I think the 2020 election will be a very close, very divided one. I don’t know who will win tbh.

My information on the unlikelihood of 12 straight years of anybody comes from history. As I’m sure you know, it’s pretty rare. Happened with Reagan-Bush, but Reagan was a good president overall who had good approval ratings overall. Trump is neither of those things. FDR was also a unique case for a variety of reasons. So no, you aren’t getting 8 more years of a Republican President. Sorry.
As for this election, we’ll see. You’re fortunate that the DNC seems to want to sabotage themselves at every turn—that just might enable your boy to squeak by. For our country’s sake, I hope not. His “presidency” has been a continuous string of scandal and failure. But I won’t count him out either; I always naively thought that despite our differences, Americans would never elect a person of such terrible character, intellect, and judgement, and I was proven wrong.
