Doubt it was used much at all, and neither did the giant ship.
But the hospitals were definitely overrun at some point, and at least a little bit of this was used to alleviate them.
The numbers just don't check out. Cuomo announced New York had 50k hospital beds at the start of the crisis, and expanded capacity up to 90k through emergency measures. Their peak hospitalizations due to covid was 19,836 on April 8th.
