The superfight went to Diaz

The dude walked away from the sport a multimillionaire many times over with his brain still completely intact.

He got hit in the head more times in his last 3 fights than in all his previous fights and was reporting head aches memory lapses and the like.

So I don't know man, I think he was smart to hang em up, at that point.

Very true. I also agree with what Firas said at the time - there will always be another challenger. It doesn't really matter how dominant you are, because new opponents will always come up. He put together an incredible run and became wildly rich in the process.

Smart man to leave with his head still functioning properly. I'm sure he's enjoying not getting punched.

diaz has nothing to lose and a crap ton of money to gain. gsp would have had to pack on muscle, risked losing, and then had to re-tool to get back into 170 lb shape with a blemish on his legacy.

diaz already has a spotty record and just wants big money fights.

i don't hold it against gsp or laud nick. frankly i don't think this is a good fight for nick.

GSP hesitated all this time and never had the intention of fighting the spider without like a '3 years' preparation or whatever, lol.

Diaz accepted. We all know who's the real warrior at 170 lbs.

Because GSP cares about more than just a pay day.

also the fact GSP haters look for the smallest thing to crap on him for, and Diaz lovers will somehow twist any loss Diaz has into him being robbed or some other positive light.

GSP wins ... Silva was never that good.
GSP loses, GSP sucks and was exposed.

Diaz wins ... Silva is the GOAT and Diaz won so damn Diaz is amazing.
Diaz loses, Diaz was supposed to lose to the GOAT and he's a warrior for taking it.

There is an inherent difference between the position of Diaz and GSP. One was the champ and the other is a guy looking for a big pay day and struggling to maintain relevance without stringing together wins.
