This show is arguably worse than Discovery

I thought it was actually a pretty Intresting episode. Learn part of why Rafis so F'd up, see seven struggling still with her humanity, find Maddox with a huge plot twist.

This show isn't TNG. They have stated from the beginning, the show would not be like any trek show we have seen. Gotta see where they go with the story, but so far I am enjoying. To many people in Fandom now, give things a chance. It's either the best ever or the worst thing ever. TNG would have been doomed in the internet era...

Was just discussing Pulaski.

She could have been fine, sometimes written alright, but they sabotaged her by making her a bitch to Data, whose popularity was second only to Picard's.

I think McFadden paid off the writers to give her insurance.

A lot of the criticism is deserved, but there have been plenty of bad costumes in holodeck episodes and the like before this along with plenty of meaningless techno babble. Reverse the polarity of the deflector dish, something something tachyons, inertial dampeners ... etc.

I think the biggest issue is simply that it no longer has the uniqueness of Trek but also isn't bringing anything new to the table. For instance, having this show talk about the Federation's new inability to provide for the common man just makes me miss Firefly.

I say it goes back to Best of Both Worlds, and DS9 ran with that ball. After BOBW, people wanted more epic, lengthy explosion filled scenes.

And I know it's what the fans want nowadays.
But for me, spectacle is tiresome. Explosions bore me. Twenty ships scattered across the frame shooting in every direction is NOT why I watch ST.

I know we'll never get a slow, thought provoking ST again, I just have to accept that it's going to be shallow action schlock going forward.

We've parted ways, most likely forever.

I think DS9 had more depth to it though. First Contact was utter garbage.

This show is so stunningly stupid and bad it's hilarious, but I doubt they ment it to funny bad.

It's not Trek it's not Picard either its barely mediocre scify bordering on trash half the time. Makes Discovery look top quality.

The romulan wine makers seemed most interesting characters so of course they are back in France fucking about while band of Picard the bold with space Legolas and wishes he was Pedro Pascal with token colored character and annoying short hair blonde yard act like band of retards.

7 would still get the D. About the only good thing Ohh and the evil romulan madman sister. Shed really get it .

I was pretty excited for Picard until I heard it's in name only. Theres a huge difference in sticking with a TV show hoping it gets better versus paying money to subscribe to a format.

What worries me though is that everything in Picard should be canon. With a billion Trek projects now in the works why get rid of an established element like the Romulan Empire. Again, it speaks to zero forethought and planning and essentially a lack of vision. Sacrifice a future storylines for cheap shock value now.

Who out of DS9, TNG or VOY would you like to see appear on Picard ?

The original Dax but I'm not sure how well she's aged so they can borrow Scorsese's anti ageing software.
I'm sure they could invent some alternate reality wormhole version of her to do it and explain why she was still the old one and not the new one.

Failing that the 2nd Dax would do, she's aged quite well.

Apparently Diana Muldaur was kinda a bitch to work with, and the rest of the cast didn't care for her. Only reason Gates Mcfadden was fired, was because Maurice Hurley, the showrunner for season 2, didn't like her. He demanded she be fired, or he would quit, and he had them over a barrel due to the writer's strike. He was booted out for season 3, and Gates was brought back. I guess Muldaur was happy to leave as well.

She is still alive. What a sad ass demise though.

She has some has some pretty serious mental health issues. I guess when VOY first started she was delightful to work with, but starting in season 2 she started becoming difficult to work with, wouldn't show up, and have random outbursts.

A friend of mine saw her at a convention around 10 years ago, and he said she was heavily sedated, to get through the singings.

I think it would be cool to see Ezri Dax and Bashir show up at some point. Hopefully married. In the books shes captain of a Ship now, the USS Aventine, and she has really grown on me as a character.

Both Terry Farrel (Jadzia), and Nicole De boar (Ezri) are still very pretty. I don't really see how you could bring back Jadzia

Shakes up the universe. The Romulan Empire is still around, and just not the giant cold war power. You have to remember at the end of nemesis, the federation is now at peace with the Klingon Empire, The dominion, The Cardassians, The Borg(Dead kinda), and have taken a great step towards peace with the Romulans. It would be a pretty boring show, if your at peace with half the galaxy.

I don't really see how you could bring back Jadzia

Something happened in the DS9 wormhole to split her into 2 versions and she's back.
I'm sure they've done sillier plots but your Bashir and Ezri suggestion makes more sense.

Nicole De boar is in Private Eyes but I can't really recall seeing Terry Farrell in much since she left DS9, I've never seen Becker and that finished a long time ago too. Alexander Siddig on the other hand has been in so many things.
