Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

Is that a TOS-era Romulan warbird that I see in the trailer?

I think it is.

Also wondering whether we are seeing mass produced androids.
Yeah I was wondering if they were androids based on Data. The blond chick is a robotics specialist, so I'm thinking see was involved in there production, and Picard found out they have some sort of nefarious purpose, or maybe they were merged with Borg tech. Maybe a plot of the show is them trying to sort of rescue Data. Stop star fleet from using him

Also in the DSC trailer, it appears that only 6 members remain in the Federation, 900 years in the future.

Here's some screen grabs from Picard trailer

OK Here is a screen grab from the Picard trailer. Star fleet is totally trying to bud an army of Soong Androids. I think they are holding B4/Data, and are working with the Romulans to build new Androids, using Borg tech. The Android in the pic has F-8 on his head. I think a major plot line will be Picard trying to save his old friend, with Star Fleet and Romulans trying to stop him.

Has anyone seen the new Short Trek already?

Now seen the trailers.
More eye rolling than exciting.
From the trailers it's gonna be dark, with dark lighting and heavy dramatic tension.
Doesn't seem to care about showing fans the ST tone. Exploration is hopefully still something ST will give af about.

Has anyone seen the new Short Trek already?
I just watched it. It's great. It's about Spock first day as an ensign aboard the Enterprise, when him and number one get stuck in a turbo lift. It explores the personality and character of both of them. It was written by Michael Chabon, and it's another excellent piece by him, and makes me all the more excited with his deep involvement with Trek now.

Also, they are totally going to do a Pike series. The sets and bridge are gorgeous, and the cast works so well together. They wouldn't be doing these short treks featuring the pike crew, if something wasn't in the works. Latest rumor is, CBS is building a huge new studio in Toronto, that will be completed any day. Apparently Star Trek will be using the entire studio, as well as the current spaces rented for DSC and Picard in LA. Sounds like section 31 and Pike will be going into that new studio

Let us just have a series that explores planets and species and has first contacts. Then a Pike series is good in my books.

Hell, make it episodic.

Nickelodeon series only after 2021 due to complex animation.

The latest short trek, The trouble with Edward's"is pretty funny. It's kinda a comedy horror spoof, on how the Tribble became what they are. It also explores that not all star fleet officers are the best..

Now I've looked into it some more, this isn't for me, and doesn't seem be for fans of TNG.
Following the TNG and Abrams film events, no. Just no. That's a bad way to start. This is gonna be 99% characters I'm not going to care about, and one that's very dear to me but whose character traits were largely abandoned to make the TNG action films.

It's the only way. Ignoring canon would be way worse.

I do agree that they need to focus on the characters more again.

It may be that I'm stuck on something that will never be again.

I would have much better hopes for this if they ignored the stupid, stupid TNG films and the (reasonably fun) Abrams story lines.

I'm really just afraid they're going to effectively take everything I didn't like post- series TNG and run with it.
I'm afraid Picard's basic character traits will be forgotten, that Stewart will have forgotten how to play him.

May I just point out that a screen grab from the trailer means an actual frame taken from the trailer, not a publicity still or two images merged together?
