It's wild how the same group touted all the inroads they were making with Latinos in the last election cycle, now gets all butt hurt that the NFL is doing the same thing and trying to expand their brand with a Spanish language artist. It's not like the NFL is pushing some kind of social justice angle with Bad Bunny...It's dance club, party music. I'd almost guarantee that BB's halftime show is less politically charged that Kendrick's last year. Before and right after the '24 election, conservatives were giddy about flipping a % of the Latino vote. Now the mask is off and you literally have DHS officials tweeting about ICE raiding the superbowl because the halftime act is Puerto Rican....

Yup. They're presented with an absolute gift but are fumbling it in an incredible way.

It's tough to keep that coalition going. In 2024, MAGA brought in some low-education Latinos and blacks... but their base is still low-education, racist whites so it's extremely hard to keep all sides happy.

Thing making me laugh is the Jesus brigade saying it's going to bring in more viewers than the half time show forgetting it's a world wide deal with hundreds of nations not even knowing who TF Kirk was and who Turning Point is.

I couldn't pick a Bad Bunny track up out of a line up but apparently he's a gigantic deal.

Would have been nice to have Metallica being it's The Bay Area and they recently played Levi's Stadium. I think if it were ever going to happen it would be Feb 8th.

72 Seasons was one of my driving back and forth from San Jose for hours on end albums and I didn't give up on them with St Anger.

I'm sure Jay Z's company had a word with their management to make it happen in Santa Clara but if they didn't want to do it, they didn't want to do it. Going to be missing the vibe living there for Super Bowl, it's bound to be a ton of fun.

I saw them in concert last Summer, they sold out a 10,000 seat outdoor amphitheater and blew the roof off the place, was a great high energy show

I was surprised by how many teens and twenties was there, figured it would be all old fogeys like myself

Saw them in like 97-98 when they were coming up and one of the curtain jerkers at Ozzfest, came out of a giant toilet on stage, got some random women to strip on stage...early teen me enjoyed the show.

On the "where did these kids come from" side, I felt the same way when I saw Pantera this summer...lots of kids and youngins there with their parents...I mean I brought 16 year old Thrawn Jr....

He's not the biggest star in the world. But hes a big enough star that any kid who knows anything about pop culture will probably know of the name.

Before I moved here I used to watch it for the half time show and always either had a party or a friend had a party, I love sport but I was most excited about that till I got proper into NFL It's not The FIFA World Cup Final massive but it's a bigger deal than some questionable company touting their wares and maximising their footprint after their head got murdered.
